Job Summary

The Solutions Engineer 2 is responsible for providing comprehensive solution engineering support to field resources, including Account Executives, Strategic Account Managers, and Global Solutions Sales Executives. This role requires a strong understanding of VoIP and data networking protocols (SIP, RTP, HTTP/S, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, QoS) as well as SDWAN and SASE design principles. The Solutions Engineer 2 will work independently and lead projects autonomously, ensuring the company's platform is deployed and maintained using best practices. The Solutions Engineer 2 will travel regionally approximately 25% of the time and be based virtually in PST or MST time zones to align with regional sellers and customers (the ideal candidate will reside in CA, NZ, AZ or UT).

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide solution engineering support for all field resources, including Account Executives, Strategic Account Managers, and Global Solutions Sales Executives.
  • Responsible for lifecycle sustaining engineering support (discovery, solution, and proposal).
  • Handle moves, adds, and changes (MACD).
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for large, complex solutions.
  • Support activities related to account development.
  • Capture customer technical requirements and translate them into internal architecture templates.
  • Collaborate with the product team on new product requirements, integrations, and defect resolution.
  • Conduct load/stress and fail-over testing for high-availability deployments with the product team and customers.
  • Address and resolve customer issues both pre- and post-production.
  • Drive continuous technical improvement internally and with customers.
  • Cultivate and drive technical decisions with customers to design or improve technical solutions.
  • Oversee technical implementation for customer deployment projects.
  • Participate in client implementation planning to ensure seamless integration or turn-up of services.
  • Provide technical fulfillment and answer questions related to technical capabilities for RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs.
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights, weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a telecom Solutions Engineer or related role.
  • Strong understanding of VoIP and data networking protocols (SIP, RTP, HTTP/S, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, QoS).
  • Experience with SDWAN and SASE design principles.
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Reside in PST or MST time zones with the ability to travel up to 25%.

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within the posted range for this role at the time of posting dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Targeted Commission: $70,000.00
