Job Summary

At Comcast advertising, we're building a data-driven future, and we need a Senior Data Architect to lead the way! We're looking for someone who can simplify how we provide visibility into our inventory across all linear and digital assets. You'll work closely with our engineering teams to design and build secure, cost-effective, and high-performing cloud solutions. You'll partner with teams across the company to innovate and deliver cutting-edge cloud services and platforms. And you'll collaborate with the best and brightest minds in the industry to create a private cloud offering that is scalable, reliable, and easy to use. You'll be a key leader, guiding junior engineers and project teams while setting precedents for the business and technology. Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across application and data teams to orchestrate data solutions that meet needs from transactional, analytics and data science needs 

  • Propose solutions focusing on tenants such as cost optimization, reducingdata hops,ensuringhigh availability, performanceandEffectv’sstrategic needs and future growth goals as it relates to becoming a ‘data driven’ organization. 

  • Ensure solutions adhere to policies outlined at Comcast level such as data privacy and security 

  • Design and manage robust, scalable data modelsand semantic layer

  • Build prototypes, publish design patterns for use by the organization 

  • Provide guidance on getting started in cloud and cloud migration techniques 

  • Work with the data governance team to ensure critical data elements areidentifiedand monitored

  • Work with partners like AWS, Databricks, Snowflake to ensure services meet the growing needs ofEffectv

  • Facilitate in-depth architectural discussions and design exercises to create world-class cloud solutions.

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders togatherrequirements.

  • Conduct surveys, brainstorming sessions,and analysis to understand businessneed/fit.

  • Identifytechnology and skillsgapsin solution implementations

  • Promote the use of industry and Company technology standards.

  • Partner with business leaders to understand their strategicobjectivesand translate them into actionable data architecture roadmaps that enable data-driven decision making

  • Mentor and lead teams of data engineers and architects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and technical excellence

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

  • Regular,consistentand punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Implementing cloud data architecture and data integration patterns (AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, Event Hub, Databricks, etc.), storage and processing (Redshift, Azure Synapse,BigQuery, Snowflake); Infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform); 3rd Party Integration (Salesforce, D365);

  • Understanding and experience with modern cloud data architectures and engineering for one or more of the following cloud providers - AWS, Azure,GCP;

  • Experience building data models and semantic layers 

  • Experience in defining MasterDataManagementstrategy and exposing data securely as a throughdata sharing architectureand APIs

  • Leading and supporting data architecture team and leads in creation of cloud datamigration/integration/warehouseplans, roadmap, success metrics, and assessment ofclient’senterprise (on-premiseandon-cloud) data systems. 

  • Designing and developing using data modeling techniques for mixed workloads, such as OLTP, OLAP, streaming using any formats (structured, semi-structured, unstructured);

  • Strong understanding of data governancepractices

  • Architecting and designing data implementation patterns and engineered solutions using native cloud capabilities that span data ingestion & integration (ingress and egress), data storage (raw & cleansed), data prep & processing, master & reference data management, data virtualization & semantic layer, data consumption &visualization;

  • Implementing leading practices in supporting high availability, scalable, process and storage intensive solutions architectures to dataintegration/migration,analytics and insights,AIand ML requirements. 

  • Guiding the creation of detailed documentation related to data architecture, integration, and data flows. 

  • Familiarity with message-driven data architecture to ensure de-coupling via asynchronous message-passing between loosely coupled applications and data services  

  • Possessing a certification in one of the following is a big plus - AWS data engineering; Databricks certification. 

  • Bachelors in an Engineering discipline with10+ years of relevant experience in areasidentifiedabove 

  • Media & Entertainment industry experience in measurement and attribution preferred
