Job Summary

Comcast’s Government Affairs & Strategic Initiatives Team is looking for a Government Affairs Specialist to support key initiatives that help expand our infrastructure, maintain compliance, and strengthen relationships with government partners. In this role, you’ll provide administrative and project support across a variety of regulatory and community-focused efforts. You’ll help track applications, manage reporting, coordinate with internal teams and government agencies, and ensure we meet all contractual and compliance requirements. What You’ll Do: • Track and manage infrastructure grant applications and subsidy-funded construction projects. • Coordinate and submit required reports to state and regulatory bodies (monthly, quarterly, annually). • Review and interpret grant disbursement agreements and other legal documents to ensure compliance. • Support forums and meetings with government officials and local franchising authorities. • Assist with compliance monitoring, audits, and documentation. • Provide administrative support including PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, SmartSheets, and SharePoint records. • Help develop project plans, scorecards, and risk logs. • Act as a liaison for escalated deployment related issues and community affairs projects. Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Prepares and organizes forums and gatherings with government officials to exchange ideas and information on business activities and potential legislation that may affect the organization.
  • Coordinates the preparation and distribution of the following reports to state and regulatory bodies on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis: customer service, regulatory compliance, outages, complaints and updates.
  • Maintains awareness of market expansion construction. Provides advice as necessary to field engineering, accounting and construction.
  • Acts as Company liaison for information and escalated issues.
  • Manages special projects related to market openings.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support development of a compliance monitoring program that meets the organization’s needs and standards of conduct
  • Assist in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures
  • Ensuring that all contractual requirements are met by assisting with tracking and monitoring all operational aspects of the subsidy-funded construction projects
  • Keep abreast of changes in federal subsidy requirements to ensure compliance with current standards
  • Provide administrative support on various projects including creating/editing PowerPoint presentations and completing/updating Excel spreadsheets and SmartSheets.
  • Develop project plans, status reports, scorecards and risk/issues logs and maintaining project records in SharePoint
  • Assist in preparing required compliance reports; attend monthly external compliance meetings and assist in preparing for and responding to routine reviews/audits

Skills

  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, SmartSheets and presentation software
  • Good grasp of industry processes and existing business regulations

  • Ability to develop relationships across multiple teams, and at all levels of an organization and work on project teams and multiple work streams in a changing environment
  • Strong report writing skills and the ability to synthesize work products into executive summaries and/or briefs and reports, process analysis mapping and improvement experience
