Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Financial Analyst 2, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of the Greater Chicago Region (GCR)! In this exciting position, you'll report to the Finance Manager and partner closely with the GCR Sales and Marketing team, managing expenses, and delivering compelling analyses of ongoing and proposed trends and strategic projects. Your expertise will also help elevate the financial acumen of the Marketing Organization as you coach collaborators on basic financial concepts. As a valued member of the GCR FP&A team, you'll engage proactively, apply your financial knowledge, and foster a collaborative environment. You will be the driving force behind insightful business performance analysis, forecasting, and reporting by updating financial models and deliverables that you will use to provide vital financial insights to senior management in support of key business objectives. Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Dive deep into the departments you support, mastering their operations and corresponding KPIs to provide informed financial guidance and strategic insights.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with the Marketing Team, offering value added insights and advice to ensure financial results are not only understood but actively optimized to drive business success.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analyses and spearhead special projects to support critical marketing investment decisions, contributing to the organization’s strategic initiatives.
  • Revamp and maintain the Marketing expense tracker to streamline the month-end close and enhance the monthly forecasting process, ensuring data accuracy and insights.
  • Reconcile monthly expenses meticulously, while developing clear and impactful variance explanations to enhance financial transparency and decision-making.
  • Take ownership of the Month-end Close process and ensure timely and accurate forecasting and reporting in alignment with established schedules and deliverables.
  • Play a key role in the annual budgeting process by maintaining budget templates, analyzing trends, and synthesizing feedback from the Marketing Leadership team for a more accurate and strategic budget.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience showcasing analytical skills.
  • Familiarity with Chicago and surrounding suburbs for enhanced market insights
  • Expertise in Financial Planning, Analysis, and Modeling.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of Hyperion Essbase, Anaplan, and Tableau is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation required; primarily based at the N Ave. office, with occasional work at the Schaumburg office
  • Performs additional Business Operations duties and tasks as required.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
