Engineer 3, Engineering Operations
Job Summary
Responsible for participating as an individual contributor in project teams, troubleshooting operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, new product implementation, implementing existing products and services and the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering. Interfaces with vendors, engineering and peer operations organizations. Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies and procedures. Provides technical leadership to junior Engineers and project teams. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.Job Description
Must-Have Skills:
In-depth knowledge of switching technologies
Expertise in wireless platforms, specifically Ruckus and Cisco Meraki
Solid technical understanding of firewalls, particularly Juniper SRX
Basic familiarity with routing concepts
Good knowledge in scripting languages Python & Terraform
Good to know Skills:
Fundamental knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
Familiarity with scripting language Ansible
Responsibilities:
Identify new opportunities & run POC/implementation with the rest of the team as part of a technology refresh.
Installation, troubleshooting & management of Network Infrastructure
Implement routine changes such as OS upgrades, Routing, ACL/Firewall rule updates, and project-related changes such as installation & configuration of new devices, S2S VPN etc.
Effectively collaborate with Vendors & other cross-functional teams to drive incidents & Changes while following ITSM best practices & SLAs.
Identify Automation opportunities and automate regular network functions via code.
Update diagrams, documentation, policies & procedures to keep SOP’s up to date.
Strong documentation skills to ensure all network changes and fault remediation steps are recorded.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration and customer interaction.
Ability to handle stressful situations during maintenance activities and solve complex technical issues under time constraints.
Capacity to make timely and accurate assessments of complex situations and execute decisions independently.

Education
Bachelor's Degree
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
