Sr Political Sales Manager

Responsible for ensuring competence and continuity through optimum talent selection, training, professional development, motivational techniques and performance management. Has overall responsibility for developing and administering performance standards for multiple organizational units. Oversees processes and procedures to implement functional strategies. Core Responsibilities
- Serves as the point person for all political sales initiatives across the region (Local & Regional).
- Monitors and forecasts political activity for races, ballot initiatives, and key filing windows.
- Develops budgets and revenue forecasts based on historical spend, market trends, and client intelligence.
- Creates and delivers all political market presentations.
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion on matters of significance.
- Solicits and conducts meetings with state party leaders, campaigns, consultants, and agencies to present Comcast Advertising’s full suite of platforms.
- Partners with the Vice President of Government Affairs to coordinate outreach, leverage political relationships, and identify emerging opportunities.
- Solicits budgets from clients, agencies, and market sources across the cycle.
- Ensures sales volumes among existing accounts are maintained or increased through targeted, well-researched prospecting.
- Oversees customer relationships to ensure clients meet their goals through effective use of Company products and services.
- Represents the political team at sales meetings, trainings, conferences, and industry events
- Partners with Account Executives to conduct needs analyses, develop marketing strategies, and co-sell advanced advertising platforms and specials.
- Provides coaching, mentorship, and performance direction to sellers; helps Account Executives achieve their full potential and delivers career guidance and performance feedback.
- Leads by example as a “player/coach,” managing key accounts while elevating team performance.
- Develops and coordinates sales seminars, incentive plans, and business development strategies to achieve unit objectives
- Manages the full transactional lifecycle of political orders, including order entry, copy instructions, revisions, makegoods, and compliance.
- Collaborates with Directors of Sales to refine pricing structures and provide regular updates on market activity.
- Analyzes, reviews, and updates rates using FCC political file data, market intelligence, and internal benchmarks.
- Creates and implements operational strategies, policies, and procedures for Ad Sales Business Development.
- Oversees changes in operational processes and ensures consistent execution across the market.
- Maintains regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; must be able to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as needed during peak political windows.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
