Lead Software Engineer-0775
Job Description
DUTIES: Provide technical leadership in design, development, and optimization of software systems; develop advertising technology software using C++ and Golang; deploy applications in AWS Virtual Private Cloud, including using AWS Lambda to run code, using AWS EC2 spot instances for virtual computing, using AWS S3 to store large amounts of data, and managing domain names and routing traffic using AWS Route53; containerize applications using Docker; deploy containerized applications using Kubernetes; facilitate microservices communication using service mesh network layers; create direct connections between network services using Kubernetes headless services; perform load balancing and autoscaling; tune and troubleshoot performance issues by performing memory management using LLVM and Clang Address Sanitizer, top and vmstat Linux command line tools, GNU Debugger (GDB), Golang pprof, and Delve, and performing CPU tuning using perf, top and htop Linux command line tools, pprof, and Delve; build real-time data pipelines and streaming applications using Kafka; support applications under development and customize current applications; lead cross-team collaboration to support the online advertisement business; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, and seven (7) years of experience developing software using C++ and Golang; containerizing applications using Docker; deploying containerized applications using Kubernetes; facilitating microservices communication using service mesh network layers; creating direct connections between network services using Kubernetes headless services; performing load balancing and autoscaling; tuning and troubleshooting performance issues by performing CPU tuning using perf, top and htop Linux command line tools, pprof, and Delve; of which five (5) years of experience include building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications using Kafka; of which two (2) years include developing advertising technology software; deploying applications in AWS Virtual Private Cloud, including using AWS Lambda to run code, using AWS EC2 spot instances for virtual computing, using AWS S3 to store large amounts of data, and managing domain names and routing traffic using AWS Route53; and performing memory management using LLVM and Clang Address Sanitizer, top and vmstat Linux command line tools, GNU Debugger (GDB), Golang pprof, and Delve.
