Director, Engineering Delivery Management
Job Summary
The Director of Engineering Delivery Management is accountable for the effectiveness, scalability, and outcomes of delivery across the organization. This role owns the delivery operating model, planning and governance mechanisms, performance insights, and talent strategy required to execute complex initiatives aligned to business priorities. The Director leads the delivery organization and partners with Product and Engineering to set realistic, transparent, and reliable delivery commitments. Core Responsibilities:
Organizational & People Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop delivery managers and senior delivery professionals
Establish role clarity, performance expectations, and career development across the delivery function
Build succession plans and ensure delivery capabilities scale with business demand
Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
Delivery Operating Model Ownership
Define and evolve delivery frameworks, standards, and operating expectations
Establish planning, prioritization, and governance mechanisms appropriate to organizational scale
Balance autonomy and consistency across teams, platforms, and portfolios
Executive Partnership & Governance
Serve as a trusted delivery advisor to senior and executive leadership
Lead delivery governance forums and executive readouts
Provide clear, data-driven insight into delivery health, risk, and tradeoffs
Enable informed decision-making by translating complexity into actionable narratives
Metrics, Insights & Continuous Improvement
Own delivery metrics and dashboards that provide meaningful organizational insight
Identify systemic risks, capacity constraints, and improvement opportunities
Drive continuous improvement across delivery practices, tooling, and ways of working
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Engineering-Centric Delivery Leadership
Own delivery execution across engineering pods (scrum teams)
Partner closely with Engineering leadership on execution strategy, sequencing, and dependencies
Ensure delivery practices align with modern SDLC expectations and engineering workflows
Platform & Dependency Management
Govern cross-platform dependencies, integration points, and technical risk
Ensure platform-level initiatives are sequenced and resourced realistically
Sponsor resolution of systemic engineering delivery impediments
Engineering-Focused Planning & Capacity
Align engineering capacity with product roadmaps and technical commitments
Enable tradeoff discussions around technical investment, modernization, and feature delivery
Ensure delivery decisions reflect engineering constraints and sustainability
Tooling & Engineering Visibility
Own delivery tooling strategy supporting engineering execution (e.g., Jira ecosystems, deployment visibility)
Ensure delivery metrics reflect engineering health, flow, and predictable execution
Reduce manual overhead and improve transparency across engineering teams
EDM Success is measured by
Predictable engineering execution across platforms
Reduced delivery friction and technical dependency risk
Alignment between product ambition and engineering capacity

- Platform‑based technology organizations and cross‑platform dependency management
- Portfolio planning, capacity modeling, and delivery governance frameworks

Bachelor's Degree
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
