Sr. Specialist, Movies Programming
Job Summary
The Sr. Specialist, Movies Programming is responsible for curating and managing video-on-demand movie content across Xfinity platforms to deliver best-in-class customer experience. Reporting to the Manager, Movies Strategy & Revenue, this role will become an expert in our content management system and lead high-impact initiatives such as holiday curations, franchise collections, genre destinations and additional merchandising stunts. The position also collaborates closely with studios and broadcast partners on content calendars, artwork requests, and marketing campaigns, while ensuring operational excellence and alignment with broader business objectives.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Support overall Movies business objectives and long‑term strategy initiatives.
- Plan, schedule, program, and validate On Demand Movies menus across all platforms.
- Own end‑to‑end execution to ensure content is delivered, priced, and promoted as planned.
- Curate and manage programming for key menu areas, including new movies this week, movies on Sale, streaming and free movie collections. Develop and execute curated thematic stunts and collections (e.g., holiday programming, awards seasons, best‑of lists).
- Manage the daily movie content calendar across transactional, premium, streaming, and free windows.
- Lead platform delivery and programming strategy for Hitz and Streampix SVOD services in partnership with studios, content delivery teams, and content acquisition.
- Support company omnichannel initiatives across Harmony, Symphony, Membership, and Mobile programs.
- Act as primary liaison between third‑party content providers and internal content operations, product, and platform teams to resolve programming and delivery issues.
- Understand how each batch of content fits into larger business objectives, solving problems proactively to meet goals and deadlines.
- Additional ad-hoc responsibilities, as needed.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in content programming, media strategy, or entertainment marketing.
- Deep knowledge and passion for movies and pop culture, with a foundational understanding of entertainment industry trends and streaming platforms.
- Basic understanding of content management systems and workflows.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a passion for customer experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field.
