Sr. Software Engineer - Cloud Security
Job Summary
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Cloud Security Engineering team, you will design, build, and operate reliable software platforms that transform complex business and technical findings into clear actions teams can take. This is a senior software engineering role in the cybersecurity space, with opportunities to apply AI where it provides practical value. You will build systems that ingest information from multiple internal and external tools, apply business logic, and turn that information into workflows, recommendations, automation, and measurable outcomes. You will also help us develop agentic pipelines that coordinate tools, data, and multi-step processes. Prior AI experience is not required. We are looking for a strong engineer who can learn quickly, evaluate new technologies, and apply them thoughtfully. This is a senior, high-impact engineering role where you will own major technical areas end-to-end. You will design systems of significant complexity, write production-quality code, make sound architectural trade-offs, and lead implementation across services, data flows, workflow automation, and agentic pipelines. You will be expected to reason from first principles, break down ambiguous problems, learn unfamiliar tools quickly, and deliver durable software that can be operated in production.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Develop self-service capabilities. Build tools and platforms that allow teams to take action, follow guidance, and implement repeatable processes with minimal manual coordination.
Lead the end-to-end design of complex, large-scale distributed systems.
Translate ambiguous business requirements into scalable, secure, and reliable architectures.
Define service boundaries, APIs, data models, integration patterns, and deployment strategies.
Evaluate architectural tradeoffs across performance, scalability, resiliency, security, cost, and maintainability.
Identify failure modes and incorporate observability, fault tolerance, and operational readiness into system designs.
Produce clear architecture diagrams and technical design documents that align engineering teams and stakeholders.
Provide technical leadership throughout implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
Write production-quality code. Deliver secure, tested, observable, maintainable services that meet high engineering standards.
Lead technical problem solving. Break down ambiguous, multi-step problem spaces into implementable components and guide execution across the development lifecycle.
Review design and code rigorously. Raise quality through strong technical review, architectural guidance, and attention to correctness, maintainability, usability, and operational resilience.
Mentor and influence. Help raise the engineering bar by coaching teammates, improving patterns, documenting decisions, and modeling strong engineering judgment.
Research and prototype. Evaluate new approaches in applied AI, workflow automation, data processing, and cloud-native engineering. Validate ideas quickly before broader rollout.
Document and communicate clearly. Create technical documentation, design proposals, operational runbooks, implementation guides, and decision records for diverse audiences.
What You'll Need:
6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including ownership of production systems

Experience building backend APIs and services using FastAPI or similar modern frameworks
Strong database experience, including PostgreSQL, ORM patterns, schema design, and data lifecycle management
Experience building data ingestion and processing systems across multiple sources
Experience designing reliable multi-step workflows with retries, state tracking, observability, and failure handling
Working knowledge of concurrency, async processing, and distributed execution patterns
Ability to design layered, service-oriented systems with clear contracts and maintainable abstractions
Ability to translate high-level requirements into practical designs, implementation plans, and deliverable work
Curiosity and a demonstrated willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies, experiment with new tools, and apply them pragmatically
Cloud, CI/CD & Infrastructure
Strong experience with Public Cloud services such as AWS EC2, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and event-driven patterns.
Experience with Docker and production container delivery.
