Job Summary

The Senior Manager, HR Communications plays a key role in developing and delivering impactful communications for internal audiences that support Comcast, NBCUniversal, and Spectacor’s HR initiatives. Reporting to the AVP, HR Communications, this individual contributor role is responsible for developing and executing communications that inform, engage, and inspire employees. The Senior Manager will work on projects from strategy through execution, collaborating with HR partners and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, audience-focused communications. This will include partnering closely with HR leaders, business leaders and subject matter experts to understand what needs to be communicated, build the communication strategy and plan, gain alignment across stakeholders, and execute the plan. The Sr. Manager will be expected to work independently, but also to lead projects that may include directly and indirectly managing team members.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes communications plans that support HR programs and initiatives - including positioning, messaging, tactics, timelines, measurement of the communication plan and reinforcement

  • Works with internal communications digital team to understand channel options, best practices, and apply those learnings in development of communication plans. 

  • Writes and produces content across a variety of formats and channels, including intranet articles, talking points, presentations, digital signage, and event materials.

  • Applies marketing and storytelling principles to create engaging and relevant employee communications.

  • Partners with HR and communications colleagues to ensure alignment and consistency across messages and channels.

  • Uses data and feedback to assess communications and channel effectiveness and refine strategies.

  • Applies change management methodology where relevant and supports change management efforts through clear, timely, and targeted messaging.

  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality.

  • Anticipate opportunities or roadblocks, bring solutions and innovate new ideas

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in internal communications or a related field 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.

  • Experience developing and running events. 

  • Strong writing, formatting and proofreading skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required

  • Strong proficiency with business management software (SharePoint, Smartsheet, etc.)

  • Experience with digital communications tools and content strategy.

  • Ability to manage projects independently and collaborate effectively in a matrixed environment.

  • Philadelphia based preferred.
