Job Summary

Responsible for leading a team which maintains uniform access and complete transparency for data assets to enable informed business decisions that drive profitable growth. Becomes the subject matter expert in the data and able to articulate how it benefits business stakeholders. Works with business units to document the requirements for expected deliverable, identifies the source and data attributes that fit the business requirement. Responsible for leading a team which manages the complete project lifecycle for new data integration, data integrity, and data standardization centered on single source of truth. The team is composed of experts proficient in SQL, data profliing/validation, and experience in big data. The data assets that the team maintains get used across the Enterprise. Develops operational objectives. Ensures operational plans are aligned with business objectives. Contributes to functional strategy development. Has a greater degree of impact on business results, and typically manages one or more groups of professional employees.

Job Description

Data Strategy & Delivery

  • Owns the business unit’s data assets and supports reporting, analytics, and user community requirements.
  • Assistsleadership in shaping the data roadmap and ensures development timelines are met.
  • Executes onthe roadmap by prioritizing, profiling, developing,validating, and deploying data solutions.
  • Servesas the subject matter expert for data domains and communicates business impact effectively.
  • Leads collaboration across portfolio management, reporting, data architecture,developmentoperationteamsfor successful deployment and maintenance of data assets.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation for business unit data and master reference data.
  • Defines requirements for semantic layers to support reporting and analytics.
  • Overseesdata quality rule identification, threshold reviews, andcommunicatesalerts to stakeholders.
  • Implementsstandardization efforts within semantic layers and master referential data.
  • Provides training and support for new or enhanced datasets.

Data Quality, Triage & Root Cause Analysis

  • Establishes and enforces data quality standards, including validation rules, thresholds, and monitoring processes.
  • Leads triage efforts for data quality issues, coordinating rapid investigation and resolution.
  • Leadsroot cause analysis for recurring or critical data issues, driving correctiveactionsand long-term prevention strategies.
  • Partners with source system owners and internal teams to remediate upstream data issues and improve data integrity.

Cross-Functional Partnerships

  • Buildsstrong relationships with internal teams, including Analytics, Data Science, Reporting, and Development Operations, to ensure alignmentondata requirements and delivery.
  • Collaborates with external source system data producers to define integration standards, resolve data discrepancies, andmaintaintrust in shared data assets.
  • Acts as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, translating complex data concepts into actionable insights.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Managesand coaches a team of technical professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Providescareer development guidance, performance feedback, and succession planning.
  • Buildsteam capability throughmentoring ondata interpretation, operational best practices, and technical problem-solving.
  • Promotes collaboration, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional engagement.
  • Ensures team alignment with organizational values and diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.

Technical Leadership

  • Guides the team in advanced SQL/Python,data modeling, data profiling, andlarge scaledata technologies.
  • Oversees adherence to data governance standards, security protocols, and compliance requirements.
  • Champions automation, scalability, and optimization in data processes.
  • Partners with architecture and engineeringteams toevaluate emerging technologies and integrate best practices.

Operational Excellence

  • Exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Ensures operational plans align with businessobjectivesanddelivermeasurable impact.
