Job Summary
The Strategic Investments team leads M&A and investments across the Connectivity & Platforms division of Comcast. Their primary responsibility is to source and evaluate potential transactions, ranging in value from single digit millions to billions of dollars. A significant number of transactions are with emerging technology companies and the team regularly meets with startup founders, venture capitalists, investment bankers, and technical experts to analyze opportunities. As strategic investors, they partner with business leaders across Comcast to evaluate solutions to enhance our product roadmap, monetize existing assets, or improve the customer experience. Past acquisitions and investments have included companies in the advertising, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, holographic display, IoT, smart home, solar, streaming TV, and Wi-Fi verticals.Job Description
The Strategic Investments team is very lean and, therefore, the Sr. Analyst will be an integral part of their success. The Sr. Analyst will be responsible for working with potential acquisition or investment targets to analyze build vs. buy decisions, provide a thoughtful view on valuation and synergies with Comcast, and present their findings across the organization, including directly to the senior leadership team. The Sr. Analyst will also research new industry trends and opportunities for Comcast and will present their view on target investment companies. The ideal candidate will be detailed oriented, a strategic thinker, knowledgeable of financial modeling, comfortable working with data and converting it into executive level presentations, a self-starter and passionate about new technologies, and able to communicate clearly with leadership at Comcast.
Core Responsibilities
Evaluates potential investment, acquisition, and partnerships by building financial models, researching new technologies, evaluating strategic fit with Comcast, and collaborating with teams across the organization
Reads and extrapolates insights from financial statements, equity research reports, market consultant reports, and other industry sources to develop and clearly communicate an opinion on an investment decision
Contributes to insightful, thorough and well-written investment committee memos for executive audiences at Comcast
Participates in the end-to-end deal process and works with Corporate Development and Legal on analyzing data rooms, preparing investment and acquisition deal documents, and formulating analysis to help negotiate key terms with potential targets
Stays up-to-date on key industry insights, quarterly earnings calls, announced M&A transactions and manages team’s repository of key metrics
Manages the team’s pipeline of current active opportunities
Assists current portfolio companies with commercial success at Comcast and tracks financial and key operating metrics
Team-player mentality and can work well with others
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
Generally requires 2-4 years related experience
Ideally a background in Investment Banking, Private Equity, Corporate Development, or Management Consulting
