Senior Advisor, Data Business Process Effectiveness – Comcast Global Audit
Job Summary
The Data Business Process Effectiveness (BPE) Senior Advisor plays a leading role in preparation for upcoming Comcast Global Audit (CGA) audit engagements through business architecture and process mapping efforts. This role plays a critical part contributing to audit engagement preparation in shaping audit scope areas by generating innovative insights, identifying potential risks, and proposing systems / data that can be used to improve and streamline audit testing. They may also be called upon to assist with process and/or data projects as requested to enhance the effectiveness of risk management, governance and operational processes. As part of CGA team, the Data BPE Senior Advisor is responsible for: • Collaborating and driving conversations with audit partners as well as CGA data team members to engage the client to understand the complexities and unique risks of upcoming audits and what may be unique to those businesses, and provide initial recommendations • Analyzing complex business challenges and collecting operational reports to inform perspective of potential risks to be considered in upcoming audit planning • Documenting business processes, reviewing policies, mapping system relationships, capturing business rules, and discovering data structures that are potential key controls to be considered as input to preparing for upcoming complex audit engagements • Overseeing other team members in driving consistency across business architecture deliverables • Proactively identifying improvement areas that can lead to standardization and coverage, strategically aligning with audit senior leaders on ways to improve and streamline audit testing. This role offers broad exposure to the Comcast Corporation through the audit process and provides opportunities to influence risk management strategies through data-driven insights.Job Description
What You Deliver
- Demonstrates solid project management skills, including developing project plans and budgets, scheduling deliverables across CGA teams, executing per plan, and messaging status/issues to management.
- Leads audit engagement objective discussions with CGA leaders and provides strategic recommendations on process and data approaches to support audit goals and streamline the audit.
- Investigates, documents, clarifies, and connects business process architecture to related systems, policies, and data.
- Uses methodical yet collaborative approach in each upcoming audit engagement to map current state processes and system architecture as they relate to controls that business unit leaders use or need to manage their businesses.
- Leads and facilitates process and business architecture discussions with all levels of Company management.
- Collaborates with and provides guidance to the rest of the Data team on connecting to systems across Comcast, sampling and analyzing data, interpreting data relationships within and across systems, and propose data deliverables that can support upcoming testing.
- Ensures process, systems, data lineage, and analytics documentation is developed timely and with high quality.
- Supports engaging and leading multiple projects in parallel preparing for several audit engagements at once with varying complexity.
- Ensures all data is secure and follows company policies regarding data classification.
- Analyzes data to assess compliance with established policies/procedures, best practices, US GAAP, and legal/governmental requirements.
- Develops process flows, prototypes, and requirements documentation to accelerate stakeholder understanding and guide solution development.
- Facilitates and leads discussions that lead to decision-making throughout the lifecycle of creating and enhancing data solutions.
- Proven ability to deal with ambiguity, learn and understand new business areas quickly, visualize processes, and manage project timelines.
- Prepares clear and well-organized analysis workpapers, documenting root-cause (as applicable), work performed, findings, and recommendations.
- Creates graphical reports and executive presentations to effectively summarize analysis and findings.
- Offers management oversight, training, review and guidance to the staff.
- Accountable for and reviews team workpapers, presentations, and other documentation to ensure they are clear, complete, and well-organized.
- Consistently exercises independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Supports department objectives and performs other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

- Provide hands-on guidance to team members on the use of data analysis tools and platforms (e.g. Python, SQL, dbt Core, Snowflake, AWS, Tableau), as well as ability to perform queries as a back-up to the team or to respond to direct requests from Internal Audit leadership. Promote responsible use of and identify opportunities to innovate with Artificial Intelligence (AI) in developing code and developing solutions.
- Works with discretion applying sound judgment regarding work details on assignments of a varied and difficult nature while maintaining personal and broader team accountability and ownership.

- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary

- Assists engagement team in developing their understanding of relevant business risks and trains team on how to consider when planning and executing engagements.
