Job Summary

The Philadelphia Wings are seeking a talented student with a passion for video editing/shooting, motion graphics, lighting, and audio capture. The Video Production Intern will be responsible for supporting the development of the brand’s narrative and identity over the course of the upcoming season through the creation of various motion graphics, videos, highlights, and other media assets.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, filming, and production of video content including player interviews, behind-the-scenes features, and promotional pieces
  • Capture live footage from games and events for use in highlight reels and social content
  • Edit video for multiple platforms, including social media, the team website, email marketing, and in-arena displays
  • Produce dynamic highlight reels, game recaps, and short promotional videos
  • Edit long-form content for features, mini-documentaries, and special projects
  • Incorporate graphics, motion design, and special effects to enhance video storytelling
  • Ensure all video content reflects the Wings’ brand standards, tone, and quality
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative video concepts and story boards
  • Provide support during Wings home games and community engagement events
  • Organize, label and manage assets on the existing media management system
  • Assist with department administration functions as necessary
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • A current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in Communications, Video Production, Media Arts or closely related field. (This internship is PAID, however housing & transportation are the Intern’s responsibility)
  • Availability to deliver content pieces with dynamic storytelling
  • Working knowledge of shooting and editing techniques and latest editorial trends and knowledge of the latest technology
  • Proficient editing skills using software including Adobe Premier, After Effects, Photoshop or other relevant multimedia software
  • Must demonstrate strong creative skills and conceptualization to production
  • Experience with color correction, music selection and special effect treatment
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated communicator who follows direction and functions will in a dynamic environment
  • Prior experience and understanding of working within brand guidelines and style guides
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with different design formats for all digital platforms; Instagram. Facebook, X, YouTube
  • Familiarity with current social media trends
  • Passion for sports with a creative mindset
  • Having your own camera equipment is preferred, but not necessary
