Job Summary

This position will be responsible for assisting in the Comcast Corporation enterprise-wide controllership and consolidation process and activities supporting the preparation of SEC filings.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Manages certain functions of the Corporate Accounting and Reporting (CA&R) department, including consolidated activities related to the Comcast Corporation monthly and quarterly close and consolidation process, including managing key support for SEC filings (Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, Form 8-K Earnings Release).
  • Partners with financial systems, divisions, and controllership teams to support CA&R projects and initiatives.
  • Manages the topside journal entry process and OneStream certifications to ensure consolidated financials are reported accurately.
  • Prepares financial statement analysis information and ensure proper variance trends are reported.
  • Supports the team’s foreign currency initiatives including review and assessment of currency remeasurement and translation.
  • Supports the annual Proxy process, including overall management of stakeholder requests, assigning responsibilities and review of the supporting data and the externally reported filing.
  • Enhance team’s supporting work papers for disclosures in SEC filings.
  • Oversees requests for internal and external auditors while developing strong partnerships with internal corporate, divisional stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Oversees the integrity of controls over the consolidations process through checklists and other methods to ensure compliance with the regulations resulting from SOX.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Identifies process improvements to consolidation and reporting processes.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; CPA a plus
  • Generally requires 3-6 years related experience
  • Strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work on multiple concurrent tasks
  • Experience with systems and emerging technologies such as OneStream, Workiva Wdesk, Oracle, SAP, etc.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel skills
