Job Summary

The Executive Director, Studio Production Lead oversees all production operations and creative execution for Comcast’s Studio C, the company’s state-of-the-art in-house production facility. This role provides strategic leadership and day-to-day direction for live and recorded productions, ensuring technical excellence, creative quality, and alignment with Comcast’s brand and communications goals. The Executive Director partners closely with Corporate Communications, Creative Services, and Engineering to deliver high-impact programming, corporate events, and internal broadcasts that bring Comcast’s stories and leadership moments to life.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Studio Management

  • Lead all studio production activities in Studio C, overseeing creative, technical, and operational functions. 

  • Set strategic direction for the studio’s production capabilities, resource planning, and long-term growth. 

  • Ensure Studio C delivers exceptional content that reflects Comcast’s brand standards and executive communications priorities. 

  • Collaborate with executive stakeholders to align production output with corporate goals, business objectives, and storytelling strategy. 

Production Planning & Execution

  • Oversee the end-to-end production process for all live and recorded programs originating from Studio C. 

  • Lead scheduling, budgeting, and staffing for studio productions, ensuring efficient use of resources. 

  • Partner with producers, directors, and engineering teams to ensure flawless execution of complex productions. 

  • Direct major events, town halls, live broadcasts, and special productions that support corporate communications. 

Creative Direction & Storytelling

  • Partner with creative teams to develop programming concepts, storylines, and production treatments that engage internal and external audiences. 

  • Ensure creative output aligns with Comcast’s tone, messaging, and visual standards. 

  • Guide the creative use of visuals, motion graphics, and set design to enhance storytelling and viewer experience. 

  • Encourage innovation in studio presentation, lighting, and camera techniques to continuously elevate production quality. 

Technical Operations & Quality Assurance

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Video Technology Operations teams to ensure Studio C systems, control rooms, and production equipment operate at peak performance. 

  • Maintain broadcast-level quality standards for video, audio, and lighting. 

  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies that enhance workflow efficiency, quality, and creative flexibility. 

  • Ensure all productions meet safety, compliance, and accessibility standards. 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of producers, directors, camera operators, editors, and production technicians. 

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence within the studio organization. 

  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities for staff. 

  • Recruit and develop diverse creative and technical talent to support the studio’s evolving needs. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Corporate Communications, Internal Communications, and Events teams to deliver enterprise-wide programming. 

  • Collaborate with Studio C Engineering, Remote Production, and Video Technology Operations on shared workflows and technical projects. 

  • Support executive leadership communications, corporate initiatives, and live event integrations across Comcast’s network. 

  • Serve as a creative and operational advisor for cross-functional production planning and execution. 

Operational Excellence & Resource Management

  • Manage production budgets, vendor contracts, and capital expenditures related to studio operations. 

  • Oversee scheduling, logistics, and utilization of Studio C facilities to maximize efficiency and quality output. 

  • Establish KPIs to monitor performance, production throughput, and client satisfaction. 

  • Continuously improve production processes, workflow automation, and resource allocation. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Media Production, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • 12+ years of experience in broadcast, studio, or corporate production, including leadership experience managing large production teams. 

  • Proven track record overseeing complex live and recorded productions from concept through delivery. 

  • Strong understanding of studio operations, production workflows, and broadcast technologies. 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple high-profile projects simultaneously. 

Preferred:

  • Experience leading production operations in a news, corporate or enterprise environment. 

  • Familiarity with IP-based workflows, hybrid production models, and remote contribution systems. 

  • Knowledge of live event and broadcast production standards, including accessibility and compliance practices. 

  • Background in telecommunications, media, or technology organizations.
