Job Summary

We build tool to triage, report, make content discoverable. Works with product owner on creation of metadata reports and in the generation of tools for triage of content ingest (metadata and upstream publishing). Responsibilities include participation in scrum rituals. Writes application code in Java and Python, depending on target system. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

• Analyzes and determines reporting needs.
• Evaluates, plans and implements software designs and enhancements.
• Follow best practices of test driven design.
• Programs new software, web applications and supports new applications under development and the customization of current applications.
• Edits and reviews technical requirements documentation.
• Works with SDET  team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
• Displays knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
• Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills.
• Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Employees at all levels are expected to:

• Backend Expertise: Experience with Java, Sprint Boot. Python. FastAPI. Xerses/Passport, MSAL. Celery Workers. GraphQL/Cypher.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Familiarity with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana. Elastic Search, Kibana, Logstash
• Understanding of data and metadata. Writes SQL queries that represent data modeling for metadata-management, as well as data discovery tools.
