Job Summary
This position is onsite in Plymouth MA. The Engineer, Video Engineering Operations supports the design, maintenance, and operation of Comcast’s studio and remote production technologies. This role ensures the technical quality, reliability, and performance of all video production systems across Comcast’s facilities, including control rooms, studios, and remote environments in Plymouth and at headquarters. The Engineer works closely with production, operations, and technology teams to support live events, broadcasts, and corporate productions, ensuring all systems function seamlessly to deliver world-class content experiences.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Studio & Control Room Operations
Operate andmaintainstudio and control room systems to support live and recorded productions.
Ensure all production systems—video, audio, graphics, and routing—are functioning correctly before and during broadcasts.
Provide real-time technical support during liveproductions,troubleshootingand resolving issues quickly.
Monitor signals, feeds, and recording systems to ensure consistent production quality.
Remote Production Support
Provide engineering support for remote productions, including setup, signal flow, and live transmission.
Coordinate with field production teams to ensure technical readiness and reliability for on-location events.
Assistwith system configuration and integration for remote contribution tools and IP-based production workflows.
Maintain communication with on-site and HQ engineers to ensure seamless delivery of live content.
System Maintenance & Technical Operations
Support installation, maintenance, and upgrades of studio equipment, including switchers, routers, cameras, and monitors.
Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all production systems.
Document configurations, wiring, and workflows for operational reference and compliance.
Partner with engineering leadership to evaluatenew technologiesand implement system improvements.
Quality Control & Signal Integrity
Ensure all video and audio signals meet Comcast’s technical quality standards.
Calibrate andmonitorsignal paths tomaintainconsistency across broadcast and production environments.
Troubleshoot encoding, transmission, or routing issues to prevent disruptions.
Maintainhigh standardsof reliability, redundancy, and performance across all systems.
Collaboration & Workflow Support
Work closely with producers, directors, and production teams to meet technical requirements for each project.
Collaborate with IT and network teams on system connectivity, media storage, and infrastructure performance.
Support coordination between Studio C, Plymouth operations, and other production facilities.
Provide guidance and technicalassistanceto operators and production staff as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Broadcast Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3–5 years of experience in video engineering, broadcast operations, or live production environments.
Strong technical knowledge of video and audio systems, control room workflows, and routing infrastructure.
Experienceoperatingand maintaining production switchers, intercom systems, and signal monitoring tools.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in high-pressure production environments.
Strong communicationand teamwork skills with the ability to support cross-functional teams.
Preferred:
Experience in corporate or network-level broadcast operations.
Familiarity with IP video, remote contribution systems, and cloud-based production technologies.
Knowledge of video transmission standards (SDI, NDI, SMPTE 2110) and video codecs.
Experience supporting live events, remote productions, or multi-camera studio setups.
Certifications in broadcast engineering, media systems, or related technologies.

Salary:
Pay Range: This job can be performed in Massachusetts with a Pay Range of $30.75 - $48.22
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
