Director, Technical Program Management
Job Summary
The global product team at Comcast is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering products in the entertainment and connectivity domains across various markets while maintaining a unified global strategy. The group leverages a global technology platform to create products our customers love. It seamlessly integrates our award-winning voice search, discovery, apps, and interactive features to deliver intuitive experiences to our 57 million customer relationships across Comcast Cable and Sky and our syndication partners worldwide. Teams are distributed across various parts of USA, Europe, and India. Our organization is uniquely positioned to leverage diverse insights to shape globally relevant products for customers and partners As a Director of Technical Program Management within our Global device organization, you are expected to lead a team of TPMs and oversee and coordinate complex technical projects across an organization, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic business objectives.Job Description
Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement program strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Serve as a key advisor to executive product and engineering leadership on program progress, risks, and opportunities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to prioritize initiatives and allocate resources.
Program Management
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple technical programs, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Define program objectives, success criteria, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Drive end-to-end program lifecycle management from initiation to closure.
- Develop and maintain program roadmaps, identifying dependencies and managing risks.
- Develop dashboards and reports to track program performance and communicate updates to leadership.
Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, operations, and business teams.
- Manage expectations and resolve conflicts among stakeholders.
Team Leadership
- Fosters Comcast leadership values
- Lead and mentor a team of technical program managers, fostering professional growth and skill development.
- Build and maintain a high-performing team culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
Process Improvement
- Optimize and implement program management frameworks, tools, and best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Measure and analyze program outcomes, ensuring lessons learned are applied to future initiatives.
Technical Expertise
- Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to understand project requirements and technical constraints.
- Ensure that technical solutions align with business needs and long-term strategy.
Qualifications
- BS/ MS degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years in Product development with at least 2 years of experience as an engineer in a technical domain.
- 5+ years of people management experience
- Working exposure in embedded software products
- Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and data analytics skills
