Job Summary

The Director, Studio Producer manages the planning, production, and delivery of live and recorded programming from Comcast’s Studio C, the company’s in-house production facility. This role oversees day-to-day production activities, working closely with other producers, directors, and technical teams to ensure all studio projects meet Comcast’s creative and operational standards. The Director leads multiple concurrent productions—ranging from corporate broadcasts and town halls to internal communications and special events—while maintaining a strong focus on storytelling, collaboration, and quality execution.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

Production Management & Leadership

  • Oversee the planning and execution of live and recorded productions from Studio C, managing timelines, crew, and logistics. 

  • Collaborate with producers, directors, and creative teams to translate scripts and concepts into polished, high-quality productions. 

  • Lead production coordination across multiple projects, ensuring resources and facilities are utilized efficiently. 

  • Manage production schedules, budgets, and workflows to ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. 

Creative Direction & Storytelling

  • Partner with Corporate Communications and creative stakeholders to develop compelling narratives and visual storytelling. 

  • Ensure every production reflects Comcast’s brand, tone, and visual standards. 

  • Provide creative input during pre-production and live shoots to enhance storytelling impact. 

  • Oversee scripting, set design, graphics, and on-screen talent coordination for studio productions. 

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and technical teams to ensure readiness and reliability of studio systems. 

  • Partner with Studio C leadership, Corporate Communications, and Remote Production teams on high-profile events and broadcasts. 

  • Collaborate with design, post-production, and editorial teams to ensure continuity from shoot to delivery. 

  • Serve as a liaison between creative vision and technical execution to ensure flawless live and recorded outcomes. 

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Manage and mentor a team of producers and coordinators working across Studio C productions. 

  • Provide leadership during pre-production, live shoots, and post-production to ensure clear communication and accountability. 

  • Foster a collaborative, supportive team environment focused on creativity, efficiency, and excellence. 

  • Support professional development and skill growth across the production team. 

Operational Excellence & Quality Control

  • Ensure all studio productions meet Comcast’s technical and creative quality standards. 

  • Establish production best practices and maintain consistency across all Studio C programming. 

  • Manage pre-production and post-production processes, including reviews, feedback sessions, and content delivery. 

  • Continuously evaluate production workflows and recommend improvements for efficiency and innovation. 

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Build strong relationships with internal clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project goals, messaging, and expectations. 

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for production-related communication and approvals. 

  • Present project updates, production plans, and creative treatments to executive and department leaders. 

  • Ensure clear communication between production, engineering, and corporate teams throughout each project. 

  • Partner with Corporate Communications, Internal Communications, and Events teams to deliver enterprise-wide programming. 

  •  Collaborate with Studio C Engineering, Remote Production, and Video Technology Operations on shared workflows and technical projects. 

  • Support executive leadership communications, corporate initiatives, and live event integrations across Comcast’s network. 

  • Serve as a creative and operational advisor for cross-functional production planning and execution. 

  • Manage production budgets, vendor contracts, and capital expenditures related to studio operations. 

  • Oversee scheduling, logistics, and utilization of Studio C facilities to maximize efficiency and quality output. 

  • Establish KPIs to monitor performance, production throughput, and client satisfaction. 

  • Continuously improve production processes, workflow automation, and resource allocation. 

Qualifications 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Media Production, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 8–10 years of experience in broadcast or studio production, including producing live and recorded content. 

  • Proven experience leading multi-camera productions and managing production crews. 

  • Strong understanding of studio workflows, production scheduling, and broadcast-quality standards. 

  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. 

  • 12+ years of experience in broadcast, studio, or corporate production, including leadership experience managing large production teams. 

  • Proven track record overseeing complex live and recorded productions from concept through delivery. 

  • Strong understanding of studio operations, production workflows, and broadcast technologies. 

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple high-profile projects simultaneously. 

Preferred: 

  • Experience working in corporate, network, or agency production environments. 

  • Knowledge of IP-based production systems, cloud workflows, and live streaming technologies. 

  • Background in telecommunications, media, or enterprise communications. 

  • Experience with scriptwriting, storyboarding, and content planning. 

  • Familiarity with post-production, motion graphics, and content delivery pipelines.
