Job Summary

The Director of Production, Studio leads the planning, production, and delivery of live and recorded programming from Comcast’s Studio 41. This role oversees day-to-day production activities while operating as a senior production lead across high-visibility projects—partnering closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment on messaging, creative approach, and execution. The Director of Production, Studio is responsible for managing multiple concurrent productions, including corporate broadcasts, town halls, internal communications, and special events. This role combines hands-on production leadership with elevated stakeholder engagement, ensuring each production meets Comcast’s standards for creative quality, operational excellence, and strategic impact.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Production Management & Leadership

  • Lead the planning and execution of live and recorded productions from Studio 41, managing timelines, crew, and logistics.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent productions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and at a high level of quality.
  • Translate scripts and concepts into polished, broadcast-quality productions in partnership with producers, directors, and technical teams.
  • Manage production schedules, budgets, and workflows to ensure efficient and effective delivery.

Creative Direction & Storytelling

  • Partner with Corporate Communications and creative stakeholders to develop compelling narratives and visual storytelling.
  • Ensure all productions align with Comcast’s brand, tone, and visual standards.
  • Provide creative direction during pre-production and live shoots to enhance storytelling impact.
  • Oversee scripting, set design, graphics, and on-screen talent coordination.

Stakeholder Leadership & Alignment

  • Serve as a senior production lead and primary partner for stakeholders across Corporate Communications, Internal Communications, Events, and business units.
  • Navigate complex stakeholder environments, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining production integrity and timelines.
  • Translate business objectives into clear production approaches, formats, and execution plans.
  • Present production strategies, creative concepts, and project updates to executive and department leadership.
  • Ensure alignment on messaging, expectations, and delivery across all stakeholders.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and technical teams to ensure readiness and reliability of studio systems.
  • Partner with Studio 41 leadership, Remote Production teams, and Video Technology Operations on high-profile productions.
  • Collaborate with design, editorial, and post-production teams to ensure continuity from concept through delivery.
  • Act as a bridge between creative vision and technical execution.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Mentor a team of producers and coordinators across Studio 41 productions.
  • Provide clear direction throughout pre-production, live execution, and post-production.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team environment focused on accountability, creativity, and excellence.

Operational Excellence & Quality Control

  • Ensure all productions meet Comcast’s technical, creative, and brand standards.
  • Establish and maintain production best practices across Studio 41 programming.
  • Oversee pre- and post-production processes, including reviews, feedback, and final delivery.
  • Continuously evaluate workflows and implement improvements to increase efficiency and innovation.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Partner with Corporate Communications, Internal Communications, and Events teams to deliver enterprise-wide programming.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Remote Production, and Video Technology Operations on shared workflows and technical initiatives.
  • Support executive communications, corporate initiatives, and live event integrations.
  • Manage production budgets, vendor relationships, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee studio scheduling, logistics, and facility utilization.
  • Establish KPIs to track production performance, efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction.

Qualifications
Required

  • 10–12+ years of experience in broadcast, studio, or corporate production, including leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to lead live and recorded productions from concept through delivery.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent productions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of studio production workflows, production operations, and broadcast standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and competing priorities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in corporate, network, or agency production environments.
  • Knowledge of IP-based production systems, cloud workflows, and live streaming technologies.
  • Background in telecommunications, media, or enterprise communications.
  • Experience with scriptwriting, storyboarding, and content planning.
  • Familiarity with post-production, motion graphics, and content delivery pipelines.
