Director, GSOC
Job Summary
Responsible for effectively planning, managing and coordinating all activities in the Global Security Operations Center, and Philadelphia Campus Security Operations Center. Manages professional employees, supervisors, business support/technical staff and contract security services. Has accountability for managing financial resources. Provides subject matter guidance to employees. Has overall responsibility for developing/administering performance standards for organizational unit. Develops process and procedures to implement functional strategies. Also responsible for the direct management of contract security personnel. Core Responsibilities
Develops and effectively applies established practices that comply with regulatory guidelines and standards
Manages a team including security officers, contract service providers, and other external security workgroups; Leads, coaches, and develops the SOC team to include defining staffing requirements, recruiting, hiring, training, performance development, and staff retention.
Establish a rigorous training program for all GSOC personnel, to include planned and unplanned drills, personnel development, and both in-house and third-party development.
Leads in the search for relevant applications to manage risk identification to Comcast assets to include applications compatible with a GIS platform.
Leads in the management of emergency incidents, including but not limited to medical, fire, critical incidents, and personal employee emergencies as received.
Retools, manages, and motivates a team in a dynamic, rapidly-evolving and cross-functional environment that is centered around the use of people, process and technology to ensure life-safety, security and resiliency.
Captures workload and system key performance indicators (KPI) and other data to accurately capture GSOC and SOC activities.
Oversees internal audits to assure that organizational personnel are adhering to established policy and practices and recommend appropriate action to correct deficiencies.
Supports the Protective Operations team and all Comcast Security teams during company-sponsored events, executive security and investigations as required.
Acts as a liaison between security personnel, facility managers, contract service providers, and other stakeholders.
Assists in developing and improving security awareness and loss prevention programs.
Ensures that personnel records, reports, approvals, filings, schedules, written orders, etc. are maintained as required.
Manages, compiles and reviews budgets for the GSOC program using actual performance, previous budget figures, expense reports, and other data sources to control funds and provide for proper financial administration. Tracks contracting costs and needs, managing statement of work efforts. Ensures GSOC program manages costs effectively, projects future budget needs, improves services received and meets schedule demands for service delivery.
Must be able to conform to the company’s key operating principles, especially excellent customer service.
Works flexible hours and is available on call 24/7 as situations warrant.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment, discretion, and integrity in matters of significance.
Must be able to work nights and weekends as well as variable schedule(s) as necessary.

- Bachelor’s Degree
Field of Study
- Business, Criminal Justice preferred
Certifications
- Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) certification preferred
CPP, PSP, CISSP, CFE, and/or CFI preferred. Experience managing a GIS based platform preferred.
Years of Experience
- Generally requires 6-9 years related experience

Bachelor's Degree
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
