Director, Corporate Communications (External) - Comcast Business
Job Summary
Seeking a Director of Corporate Communications (External) to join the Comcast Business Corporate Communications team. This strategic, highly collaborative communications expert will lead external storytelling that helps to elevate Comcast Business’s brand awareness in local communities, strengthen our reputation amongst small businesses, and positions Comcast as an economic development partner in the cities we serve. They will work closely with our field communications team to tell impactful stories, drive a consistent cadence of announcements and content, and partner with region PR and CB marketing leads to amplify events and engagements at the local level. This role requires a seasoned communicator with a deep understanding of integrated corporate communications, national and regional media relations, and B2B storytelling. Core Responsibilities
Support External Communications for Comcast Business
- Develop and drive external communications strategies and tactics that elevate Comcast Business’s national narrative, product leadership, and reputation, with a special focus on small business.
- Build and maintain relationships with business, technology, and small business media; proactively secure high-impact coverage that reinforces Comcast Business’s market leadership and brand strength.
- Serve as a key point of contact for integrated communications initiatives supporting small business campaigns, product launches, reputation programs, influencer partnerships, and enterprise-wide moments.
- Message train Comcast Business or region spokespersons in support of national announcements.
Strengthen Regional & Local Market Presence
- Partner closely with field communications teams (region leads and HQ Field PR teams) to increase local awareness and visibility of Comcast Business in high-priority markets.
- Provide strategic guidance, messaging, template materials, and toolkits to the field teams to enable consistent execution across regions.
- Project-manage communications milestones including announcements, events, partnerships, and national campaigns.
- Work closely with region PR teams to identify and develop storylines that highlight local success and market-specific opportunities that reinforce national messaging.
Support Government Affairs Communications
- Collaborate with Government Affairs Communications, Region PR, and Region CB Marketing teams to advance Comcast Business positioning with external stakeholders including regional chambers of commerce, business associations, and small business advocacy groups.
- Develop messaging, materials, and engagement strategies that showcase Comcast Business’s role in driving local economic growth.
Drive Integrated Corporate Communications Planning and Execution
- Develop and lead integrated communications plans across small business, product, marketing, social/digital, corporate communications, field communications, and internal communications teams.
- Craft compelling messaging, press materials, executive quotes, and thought leadership content.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in corporate communications, external communications, media relations, public relations, or related fields – ideally supporting a major brand, technology company, telecommunications provider, or B2B enterprise.
- Proven ability to lead external communications programs that deliver measurable results with national and regional media.
- Strong experience in B2B storytelling, especially with small business audiences, technology products, or enterprise solutions.
- Demonstrated success working in a highly matrixed organization, managing complex workflows and building strong cross-functional relationships.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and message` development skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into compelling, accessible narratives.
- Experience supporting regional or local market communications, including field communications teams or decentralized networks.
- Strong understanding of integrated communications planning, including social, digital, product marketing, and reputation programs.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining high quality and attention to detail.
