Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter Communications, was formed to develop and offer a next-generation streaming platform for the entire entertainment industry. The company consists of three primary lines of business: Xumo devices, Xumo Play, and Xumo Enterprise. Powered by Comcast’s global entertainment platform, Xumo devices feature a world-class user interface with universal voice search capabilities, making it easy for consumers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming content. Xumo Play is a free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service offering hundreds of linear channels and on-demand options. Xumo Enterprise provides tools and services for content creators, distributors, and advertisers to make FAST content more accessible.

Job Summary

The Director, Business Operations will be responsible for Xumo’s performance measurement and strategic planning function across Xumo Play and Xumo Enterprise businesses. This role is responsible for setting operational goals, driving business rhythm, supporting financial planning and forecasting, and ensuring the broader organization is aligned around data-backed objectives. This is a highly cross-functional and visible role, requiring strong collaboration with Product, Content, Finance, and Executive Leadership. This role will report to the VP, Business Operations & Planning.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Facilitate company-wide planning processes that align teams to shared goals and ensure effective prioritization of resources.

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop, operationalize, and track company and team-level OKRs.

  • Work closely with Finance and Strategy to support revenue, cost, and engagement forecasts with insights from across the business.

  • Manage and improve cadence for core operating procedures including executive business reviews, leadership offsites, and planning check-ins.

  • Conduct variance analysis for performance gaps vs. forecast or target; identify root causes and implications for action.

  • Develop executive-level materials, memos, and presentations to communicate business performance and strategic priorities.

  • Provide operational support and business insight to Content and Product leaders to inform roadmap planning and resource allocation.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Professional Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in business operations, strategy, planning, or consulting roles, preferably within media, tech, or digital platform environments.

  • Strong financial acumen and experience with forecasting, scenario modeling, and KPI frameworks.

  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with experience preparing materials for senior executives.

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and manage through influence.

  • Proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Periscope, PowerPoint/Google Slides).

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience working within or alongside Finance, Product, or Strategy teams.

  • Prior exposure to ad-supported digital platforms, Content and Product planning, or distribution ecosystems.

  • Ability to translate complex data into business insight and strategic action.

Additional Info:

Position is office based in Philadelphia, PA- 4 days/week onsite & 1 day remote.
