Organization & TeamOverview
Comcast’s Wireless Technology department plays a pivotal role in enabling and enhancing the MVNO partnership between Comcast and its MNO partners, powering the backbone of Xfinity Mobile services and supporting over 8.5 million mobile customers nationwide. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining scalable, cloud-native platforms that deliver differentiated experiences to Xfinity Mobile customers. These platforms also support a robust toolset used by Care agents to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues efficiently, ensuring seamless support and high-quality service delivery. In addition, Wireless Technology oversees Comcast’s Community Wi-Fi hotspot network and leads the development of the company’s private 5G infrastructure—expanding secure, high-performance wireless access across diverse environments. With a focus on innovation, reliability, and customer impact, the team leverages advanced network technologies to deliver intelligent wireless solutions to millions of users.
Role Description
We are seeking a motivated and curious software development intern to join our MVNO Engineering team within Wireless Engineering. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge, enterprise-grade telecom software systems that blend full-stack development, cloud technologies, and data-driven applications with real-world impact. You will contribute to mission-critical platforms that support the MVNO partnership between Comcast and our MNO partners, including the home-grown platforms that deliver differentiated services to Xfinity Mobile customers. Additionally, you’ll help enhance the troubleshooting platform used by Care agents, directly improving customer support workflows and service quality. This internship provides hands-on experience in telecom software engineering, API development, and platform reliability, with opportunities to make a meaningful impact on mobile service delivery and customer experience.

Designing and optimizing APIs that support MVNO operations and entitlement services.
Building scalable components for differentiated mobile service delivery.
Enhancing internal platforms for real-time customer support and troubleshooting.
Automating operational workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
Improving system performance, reliability, and observability across distributed services.

The student can make a meaningful impact by improving the efficiency of MVNO provisioning flows and system design, helping to strengthen the partnership between Comcast and our MNO partners through scalable and reliable backend services. Their contributions will support the development and optimization of the home-grown platforms, which enable differentiated features for Xfinity Mobile customers, and help agents with customer issue resolution. By streamlining provisioning logic and improving platform performance, the student will help drive operational excellence and support the delivery of robust enterprise-grade telecom software solutions.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver software solutions.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Participate in agile development processes, including code reviews and sprint planning.
Test, debug, and deploy software applications in staging and production environments.
Document technical designs and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
PreferredSkills
Proficiency in backend development using Node.js or Java.
Familiarity with web development frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Django).
Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
Understanding of telecom concepts such as IMSI, MSISDN, SIM provisioning, and billing.
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028)
Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)
