Organization & TeamOverview
The National Traffic and Capacity Management (NTCM) team plays a critical role in ensuring Comcast’s network infrastructure is scalable, efficient, and future-ready. NTCM is responsible for forecasting, planning, and optimizing network capacity across the national footprint, enabling the company to meet growing customer demand, support strategic initiatives like FDX and Genesis, and drive operational excellence.
Role Description
As a co-op on the National Traffic and Capacity Management (NTCM) team, you’ll be part of the engine that keeps Comcast’s network running smoothly and efficiently. NTCM is responsible for forecasting, planning,reporting and optimizing network capacity across the country—ensuring customers get the speed and reliability they expect.
This is a unique opportunity to work on real-world network challenges, contribute to high-impact projects, and learn how one of the largest networks in the U.S. is managed and improved.
What are some interesting problems the student will work on?
1. Network Forecasting & Planning
Challenge: How do we predict where network demand will grow next?
Co-op Role: Help refine ML forecasting models using historical traffic data and trends to predict future trend.
2. Dashboard Development
Challenge: How do we reduce manual work and improve accuracy in reporting?
Co-op Role: Work on automating recurring reports like KPI updatesusing tools like SQL, Python and Tableau.

1. Enhancing Network Visibility
By helping build and refine dashboards and reports, the student enables teams across the company to see and understand network performance more clearly.Their work supports better decision-making around capacity planning.
2. Improving Forecast Accuracy
Supporting forecasting models and planning tools helps ensure the network is prepared for future demand.Accurate forecasts reduce the risk of congestion and improve customer experience.
3. Streamlining Operations
Automating reports and processes saves time for full-time engineers and analysts, allowing them to focus on strategic work.The student’s contributions to automation help increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Build scalable data pipelines and BI tools to support network and product analytics.
Engineer data extraction, transformation, and enrichment processes across large datasets.
Build validation, testing process for data and machine learning processes
Document system architecture, processes, and specifications.
Support ad hoc analysis, ML model development, and production deployment.
Perform model tuning, testing and evaluate changes.
PreferredSkills
SQL, Python, ETL, data pipeline automation, and analytics.
experience with AWS, Databricks, and BI tools (Tableau, Power BIetc).
experience with Git, CI/CD, unit test.
Experience with some of these tools: Pandas, Numpy, scikit-learn, tensorflow,scipy. docker, Kubernetes, GraphQL/REST APIs, JSON, Parquet, Javascript, MLflow, Apache Spark, SparkSQL,Pyspark,
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ownership of deliverables and adaptability to new technologies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Majors: math, data science, computer science, data analytics, engineering, science, finance, etc
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track.
- Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting March 30, 2026, through September 18, 2026.
- Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
- Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting
