Job Summary

The Sr. Manager of Technical Security is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's technical security operations. This role involves driving systems administration projects, ensuring support efforts are effectively coordinated, and managing compliance programs for data and access reviews. The Sr. Manager will troubleshoot security applications and server issues, manage asset/inventory, and oversees security systems and application upgrades and installations. They will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to address escalated server and application issues. This is a virtual role.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Approves change management (CM) for all support efforts, reviewing and evaluating change requests for technical security systems.
  • Escalates server and application issues to vendors or other support groups when they cannot be addressed internally, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Manages asset/inventory management for technical security systems, maintaining accurate records and tracking the lifecycle of assets.
  • Ensures the concepts of confidentiality, integrity and availability are incorporated into the program. 
  • Develops and maintains disaster recovery and business continuity plans for technical security systems.
  • Collaborates with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to privacy and data protection regulations.
  • Develops and manages compliance programs for data and access reviews for managed servers, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Troubleshoots security applications and server issues, investigating and resolving technical issues in a timely manner to maintain system integrity.
  • Prepares and presents reports on the organization's security status, incidents, and remediation efforts to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Oversees security systems and applications upgrades and installations, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful implementation.
  • Collaborates with leaders and other stakeholders to align technical security initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to assess security requirements for new projects and initiatives and provides technical security guidance and recommendations.
  • Provides guidance and support to the Technical Security Team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conducts regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Stays updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to technical security, evaluating their potential impact and relevance to the organization.
  • Assists in the development and enforcement of technical security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensures effective communication and collaboration with other teams, including IT, security operations, and compliance, to align technical security efforts and address cross-functional requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in overseeing technical security operations, preferably in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of systems administration, security applications, and server infrastructure.
  • Experience in managing compliance programs and conducting data and access reviews.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve security applications and server issues effectively.
  • Experience in managing security systems and application upgrades and installations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Knowledge of asset/inventory management practices and principles.
  • Familiarity with change management processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of privacy regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on achieving results.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Continual learning mindset, staying updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive information and matters.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with security incident response and management.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree required preferred in an area of study relevant to this position (i.e., Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Information Systems Management, Business Administration, Risk Management, etc.)

Related Work Experience

  • Generally, requires six plus years of related experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification or accreditation that demonstrates expertise and validates technical skills such as: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, etc. is preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime, as necessary.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20%.
  • This is primarily a virtual role, but candidate will be required to travel to Comcast facilities to perform maintenance, testing and troubleshooting and meet with teammates.
