EHS Manager
Job Summary
Reports to the Region’s Senior Environmental Manager, and responsible for developing, organizing, implementing and administering the California Region’s EHS programs in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulations and Comcast standards, with a key focus on environmental compliance. Provides extensive support to the operating business units, provides training, monitors and updates key performance indicators, and provides briefings to management on critical environmental issues. Knowledgeable of CalOSHA & other local agency requirements and workplace environmental, health, and safety practices, and works closely with others on the EHS team to create & implement environmental, health, and safety programs.Job Description
Develops needed training programs and manages the administration of environmental training, and also supports the administration of occupational safety and health training programs.
Manages the administration of environmental compliance programs with operating site managers and supervisors and outside consultants. Environmental programs include, but are not limited to: hazardous, universal and non-hazardous waste management, recycling, air permitting, spill prevention, due diligence, remediation, hazardous transportation, water and wastewater compliance and sustainability. Supports administration of workplace safety and industrial hygiene programs.
Obtains key environmental metrics and maintains EHS databases, communicates performance results, analyzes trends, conducts root cause analyses and develops/implements compliance action plans. Supports investigation of safety incidents and remedial actions.
Conducts frequent environmental, health and safety inspections and audits of the operating facilities and field operations. Documents audit findings and develops/implements compliance action plans. Conduct EHS audits of vendors and contractors.
Responsible for obtaining environmental permits, developing and maintaining required business plans, programs and procedures and filing regulatory reports. Acts as liaison to regulatory agencies, and is company representative during agency inspections of company facilities.
Provide technical guidance to the business on complex environmental and safety issues.
Manages outside EHS consultants, contractors and vendors.
Develops, revises, interprets and administers environmental management systems, policies, procedures and training programs to meet federal/state/local regulations and business requirements, and provides similar support for safety programs.
Provide EHS evaluations and due diligence support to Real Estate and Facilities for property acquisitions and divestitures.
Serves as project leader for evaluation/selection/installation of environmental protection technologies and equipment to maintain or enhance compliance.
Support development and implementation of strategic EHS goals and targets for the region.
Supports, coaches and trains local leaders and technical operations on EHS programs. Identifies innovation solutions to minimize EHS risks.
This position requires occasional overnight travel and frequent driving to various Comcast locations throughout the Bay area and CA.

Required Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or Environmental/Health/Safety Program
Generally requires 6-10 years’ experience in Environmental/Health/Safety field
Demonstrated knowledge of Federal and California environmental regulations and requirements, including: Prop 65, hazardous and universal waste management, AST/USTs, SPCC, Storm water, emergency generator air permitting, asbestos, refrigerant management. Knowledge of Federal and California OSHA and workplace safety requirements.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a matrix organization and manage programs in multiple departments and business units.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated project management leadership abilities.
Ability to travel up to 50% to the operating facilities throughout Northern and Central California. Travel out-of-state to support West Division and Corporate 5 %.
Knowledgeable of EHS database management programs and EHS management systems.
Professional designations a plus, QISP, CHMM, REM, QEP, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, ASP/CSP

Salary:
Primary Location Pay Range: $115,362.00 - $173,043.00
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.

Bachelor's Degree
