Job Summary

FreeWheel is hiring a Sr. Systems Engineer. The ideal candidate will be part of the team responsible for supporting our 24x7 Global Video Ad Serving platform and corporate infrastructure (with POPs and offices in the U.S, Europe and Asia), and administer 8000+ Windows and Linux (Rocky Linux, Amazon Linux) servers. Must be self-motivated and reliable and take on responsibilities around workflow automation and new technology evaluation. Provides expert-level technical advice and support for real time analysis, design, testing and operations of servers, etc. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
  • Support production and corporate environments with data centers and offices in the US, EU, and Asia.

  • Administer 5000+ Windows and Linux (Rocky, Debian, Ubuntu, AL2, AL2023, RHEL) servers.

  • Participate in Vulnerabilities patching of Operating Systems, Golden Image releasing, OS Hardening and End-point agents testing and deploying

  • Perform root cause analysis on hardware, software, network and operating system issues.

  • Collaborate with SRE, Engineering teams on implementation of best practices

  • Perform basic hardware troubleshooting/repairs/replacement

  • Be able to perform on-call support and scheduled weekend maintenance work

Salary:

Primary Location Pay Range: $109,887.43 - $164,831.14

Additional Range: This job can be performed in New York City with a Pay Range of $105,109.71 - $171,997.71

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
