Job Summary

FreeWheel Finance is in search of an analytical thinker with strong interpersonal skills who can solve complex issues and effectively communicate at an executive level all in a day’s work. This role requires a high degree of comfort with ambiguity in order to successfully generate insights, often operating with limited guidance. You must be a forward-thinking, solutions-oriented, and innately curious individual who is always looking to optimize processes and identify opportunities to drive meaningful change. This role reports to the Manager, Revenue Finance and is based at the FreeWheel office in New York City.

Job Description

The Revenue Financial Planning & Analysis (Revenue FP&A) team has strong business partnerships and influence throughout the company. We drive financially informed decisions in support of leadership’s strategic objectives. This role requires constant partnership and learning to nimbly perform wide-ranging tasks. You must be willing to learn detailed revenue models, operating procedures, and industry trends to carry out your diverse array of responsibilities.

We have made investments in advanced analytics capabilities to enhance our data-driven approach to problem solving. We are also focused on process improvement to create an efficient transactional infrastructure for both our internal and external customers. You must approach your daily work with these same principles and partner effectively across Finance and non-Finance working groups to enact meaningful change.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Own revenue consolidation and reporting processes related to monthly close and forecast cycles, working in partnership with revenue team members across the entire FreeWheel portfolio to ensure precise reporting across systems, distill meaningful insights, and share summarized results
  • Drive revenue budget process for FreeWheel revenue by coordinating team timelines, ensuring timely and accurate submissions, and contributing to deck creation by visualizing detailed projections and drivers
  • Along with manager, drive Long-Range Plan (LRP) process for existing and speculative revenue portfolio by administering key inputs from business partners, designing detailed revenue models for each product, generating new analyses, developing LRP narrative, creating meaningful presentation content, and liaising with FreeWheel Executive Leadership, ensuring successful plan understanding and adoption across multiple teams
  • Enhance data-driven business intelligence capabilities by regularly updating financial dashboards and generating insights, including revenue KPIs, to drive reliable information used for decision making at an executive level
  • Support entire Revenue Finance team as subject matter expert on FreeWheel financial reporting systems (Anaplan, Essbase, etc.), ensuring proper usage across the team and leading implementation of new updates and process changes
  • Assist with various personnel expenses and headcount budgeting, planning, and tracking
  • Regularly liaise with adjacent teams (e.g. Commercial Finance, Accounting, Strategy) to drive intracompany alignment and accurately represent Revenue Finance priorities to drive overall FreeWheel success
  • Special projects and ad-hoc data requests / deal analyses as assigned to support FreeWheel strategic initiatives and executive priorities

General Requirements / Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or another relevant discipline
  • 2-5 years of experience in FP&A, revenue operations, or similar capacity within a Finance function, or as an analyst/associate at a fast-paced, high-growth startup, or similar environment
  • Highly skilled in analytics and financial modeling – intermediate or better Excel formula knowledge required (INDEX, MATCH, SUMIF, PivotTable, etc.); SQL is a plus
  • Experienced/comfortable working with large data sets (basic understanding of multi-dimensional databases and ETL workflows)
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in basic GAAP Accounting principles, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, basic accruals, and more
  • Comfortable speaking with high-level executives and delivering information in a succinct, meaningful, and digestible manner appropriate for such interactions & presentations
  • A self-starter who can work independently, use data to drive decision-making, and identify/propose enhancements to Revenue Finance workflows
  • Understands when to escalate issues or findings and when to operate independently
  • Possesses an unwavering team-first mentality, prioritizing overall team success without compromise
  • Able to effectively manage workload, prioritize tasks, and streamline workflows, all while delivering work with precision
  • Constantly curious, always wanting to understand the “why” and taking it upon yourself to consistently expand industry and company knowledge
  • Meticulously attentive to detail – able to understand in-depth data reports and extract key insights
  • Communicates with and listens effectively to both Finance and non-Finance teammates
  • Positive and enthusiastic collaborator within internal teams and cross-functionally
  • Experience with Oracle SmartView/Essbase, Anaplan, Tableau, Salesforce, Snowflake a plus
  • General familiarity with marketplace business models, as well as the competitive landscape and operational models of Ad Serving companies, Supply Side Platforms (SSPs), Demand Side Platforms (DSPs), Programmatic Advertising, Media Agencies / Trading Desks a plus

Salary:

Primary Location Pay Range: $88,971.76 - $133,457.64

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
