Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter Communications, was formed to develop and offer a next-generation streaming platform for the entire entertainment industry. The company consists of three primary lines of business: Xumo devices, Xumo Play, and Xumo Enterprise. Powered by Comcast’s global entertainment platform, Xumo devices feature a world-class user interface with universal voice search capabilities, making it easy for consumers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming content. Xumo Play is a free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service offering hundreds of linear channels and on-demand options. Xumo Enterprise provides tools and services for content creators, distributors, and advertisers to make FAST content more accessible.

Job Summary

Xumo is seeking a strategic Manager, Ads Marketing to spearhead our marketing initiatives for the Advertising team. Based in New York City, you will design, develop and introduce advertising and sponsorship products that help the Advertising Sales team achieve defined outcomes and results. Responsibilities include integrated marketing programs, advertising product development, sales enablement, competitive positioning, client engagement, and client education. This role is designed to be a critical function for company growth and will need to combine advertising industry experience with TV and streaming know-how while having a strong commercial, creative and marketing sense. The role will partner across the organization, working with our sales, product, partnerships, and broader marketing teams to put in place programs, strategies, and materials that will tell our story to the market and our customers. The role will require urgency and action in a fast-paced environment, while having the steady professional presence necessary at Xumo. Above all else, the candidate will need to be a strong team player who can work through complexity to get the job done.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • With Marketing and Revenue leadership, design, develop and introduce marketing campaigns, new advertising products and pricing programs.
  • Accompany Sales staff on selected calls to key potential customers to help with marketing campaigns and if necessary, develops modifications to marketing programs.
  • Introduces new advertising products to the Sales team, provides training and lends expertise.
  • Monitors program performance and key performance metrics (revenue, client growth, retention) providing recommendations and solutions where necessary to ensure team and organizational goals are met.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, innovations, and competitive offerings in the streaming space.
  • Work closely with the product, content and revenue teams to advocate for client needs and inform product development.
  • Support development of content, digital campaigns, client engagement and thought leadership initiatives to attract new advertising clients and deepen relationship with existing clients.
  • Partner with the larger marketing team to craft messaging, campaigns and strategies that position our advertising solutions effectively in the market.
  • Generate industry intelligence (client and competitive) with a focus on the messaging, trends, FAQs.

Desired Qualifications: 

  • 5-7+ years of experience in sales/marketing, with a focus on video advertising – publisher or distributor experience strongly preferred 
  • Experience developing and selling integrated marketing programs (pre- and post-sale execution) 
  • Understanding of the streaming and digital advertising ecosystem. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and thrive under pressure. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to lead trainings/presentations. 
  • Ability to prioritize and focus on the projects that will have the biggest revenue impact. 
  • A passion for advertising and media – and where it is going next. 
  • Operate with a “We over Me” mentality to win as a team.

Salary:

Primary Location Pay Range: $110,747.52 - $166,121.28

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.

Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
