FreeWheel, a Comcast company, provides comprehensive ad platforms for publishers, advertisers, and media buyers. Role Description
FreeWheel is seeking a Strategy Intern to join our team for an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the ad tech industry. This internship will provide you with exposure to various aspects of strategic planning, research, and
modeling. You will work cross-functionally with different functional departments and have the chance to interact with leadership and teams across FreeWheel and Comcast Advertising. The intern will have the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the ad tech industry, enhance their analytical skills, and contribute to FreeWheel’s strategic goals. This includes:
- Researching emerging technologies and solutions and their potential impact for FreeWheel
- Using data analytics to uncover insights that can drive strategic decisions for FreeWheel
- Analyzing market trends to identify emerging opportunities and threats.
- Conducting competitive analysis to understand the strengths and weaknesses of key players in the industry.
What are some interesting problems the student will work on?
In this role you will work across exciting projects like leveraging new opportunities, for example, AI opportunities, and conducting strategic analysis to identify future market and segment opportunities.
Where can this student make an impact?
You will collaborate with various teams, gaining a comprehensive understanding of the company's operations and strategic goals, with the opportunity to own work start to finish, including reading out to FW executives.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Develop financial models and perform data analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
- Assist in the preparation of strategic presentations and reports for senior leadership.
- Support ad hoc projects and provide insights to drive business decisions.
- Collaborate with various teams, including marketing, sales, product development, and operations, to gather information and deliver comprehensive analyses.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to the development of long-term business strategies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Skills
- Experienced in data visualizing and reporting tools such as Looker and Tableau is preferred
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic about learning and applying new skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience or interest in the consulting, media or ad tech industry is a plus.
- Preferred Majors: Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree from a United States-based college or university
- Must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028
- Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning,
- student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
- Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
- Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
- Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)
