Job Summary
Responsible for participating in project teams, researching technical topics related to Company operations, new product implementation, assisting with existing products and services and the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering. Performs event correlation and identifies probable root cause; provides trouble isolation, basic troubleshooting and break/fix activities.Job Description

Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, monitor, and deploy provisioning stack applications in a Linux environment (DHCP, Cable Provisioning, TFTP).
- DNS zone/record updates and maintenance.
- Ability to work and thrive in a virtual setting.
- Proactively monitor and configure provisioning applications, including Xymon, MaaS, MetriX, and Grafana.
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge-sharing with the team.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement change through automation.
- Execute and validate technical changes and support maintenance activities.
- Provide summary reports and communicate the status of activities/events to management.
- Collaborate with the development team on major infrastructure upgrades and projects.
- Extract useful data from logs and KPIs for reporting purposes (via automation preferred).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Drive incident and problem management fixes to resolution.
- Coordinate and manage tasks with offshore teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
Skills & Experience We’re Looking For:
- Linux Systems Proficiency
- Evaluate comfort with Linux/Unix environments, including file system navigation, log parsing, and use of tools like awk, sed, grep, and systemctl.
- Automation & Scripting
- Assess experience with scripting languages (Shell, Python, Perl) and automation tools like Ansible. Look for candidates who can identify and implement automation opportunities.
- Networking Fundamentals
- Gauge understanding of IP networking protocols (DHCP, DNS, TCP/UDP, SNMP, DOCSIS) and ability to troubleshoot provisioning stack applications.
- Monitoring & Observability
- Look for familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Xymon, MaaS, Grafana, MetriX) and the ability to extract and interpret metrics and logs for proactive system health management.
- Problem Solving & Collaboration
- Evaluate analytical thinking, communication skills, and ability to work across teams (including offshore) to resolve incidents and drive continuous improvement.

Salary:
Primary Location Pay Range: $62,999.80 - $94,499.69
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
