Position Summary
The Utility Coordinator is responsible for coordinating utility-related activities for residential solar projects from initial submission through final utility approval. This position serves as a primary point of contact between the company, utility providers, field teams, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure utility requirements, inspections, and project milestones are completed accurately and on schedule.
The role combines administrative project coordination with field responsibilities and requires strong communication, organization, follow-through, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate directly with utility companies regarding project requirements, applications, inspections, approvals, and outstanding items.
- Schedule and coordinate utility inspections and other required utility-related site visits.
- Travel to customer properties and meet utility representatives onsite to host and facilitate utility inspections.
- Submit, track, and monitor Miss Utility/811 tickets and ensure required utility marking activities are completed within applicable timelines.
- Monitor utility applications and projects through completion, proactively following up on outstanding requirements, inspections, approvals, and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and timely project information, notes, documents, and status updates within the company's CRM system.
- Communicate project status, delays, requirements, and next steps to internal stakeholders and field teams.
- Provide occasional customer communication regarding scheduling, utility inspections, access requirements, or other project-related needs.
- Identify potential delays or issues and work with utilities and internal teams to resolve them efficiently.
- Maintain organized records of utility correspondence, approvals, inspection results, and other required documentation.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with utility representatives, customers, inspectors, and other external partners.
- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct while working in the field or representing the company at customer properties.
- Perform additional project coordination and administrative responsibilities as needed to support the Utility and Operations teams.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate project records.
- Ability to independently follow up on outstanding items and drive projects toward completion.
- Comfortable communicating professionally with utility companies, customers, field personnel, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to learn utility requirements, processes, and terminology across multiple jurisdictions and utility providers.
- Comfortable working with CRM systems, online utility portals, email, and standard business software.
- Ability and willingness to travel locally to customer properties and utility inspection locations as required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in utility coordination, solar, construction, permitting, inspections, project coordination, or a related field.
- Experience working directly with electric utilities or other regulated service providers.
- Experience coordinating field inspections or working with inspectors and field personnel.
- Experience using CRM or project-management systems.

Salary:
Maryland Pay Range: $23.18 - $34.77
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
