Job Summary
Xumo seeks a highly motivated Sr. Data Architect to join our growing Technology team. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Software Development, the Sr. Data Architect will be responsible for multiple facets of the Xumo Ad Tech data stack. This includes evaluating and understanding content feed and EPG metadata ingestion partner specs. Xumo seeks a candidate with deep and broad knowledge of modern streaming technologies and is familiar with all streaming protocols necessary for today’s multifaceted streaming media landscape. This role will require an individual to be very organized, excellent in written and verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders, and regularly demonstrate subject matter expertise. Comcast and Charter Communications have formed a 50/50 joint venture that brings our world-class Flex streaming platform, 4K streaming devices, voice remote and XClass TVs nationwide. You will want to join our innovative team because together, we will develop and offer consumers a next-generation streaming platform with a world-class user experience and navigation and all the top apps, bringing more choice to the streaming marketplace. Comcast will also contribute XUMO to the joint venture, our free ad-supported service that currently delivers more than 200 unique streaming channels and features hundreds of free content choices.Job Description
Responsible for working with engineering teams throughout the company to design and architect secure, cost-effective, and high-performing cloud solutions. Partner with teams across the company to innovate and deliver software-defined cloud services and platforms. Work with the best and brightest minds in the company as well as with vendors to architect a private cloud offering that is scalable, reliable, easy to use, and competitive in the marketplace. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Mentors, reviews codes and verifies that the object-oriented design best practices and that coding and architectural guidelines are adhered to. Identifies and drives issues through closure. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment.
- Position is office based in Irvine, CA, Philadelphia, PA or Denver, CO- 4 days/week & 1 day/week remote.
Core Responsibilities
Ensures programs are envisioned, designed, developed, and implemented across the enterprise to meet business needs. Interfaces with the enterprise architecture team and other functional areas to ensure that the most efficient solution is designed to meet business needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data architecture solutions.
Design and implement data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform data from various sources into the company data pipeline.
Define and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data quality, privacy, and security. (including compliance with regulations like GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
Work closely with other data engineers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the data architecture.
Working closely with the Company’s Technology & Product team to validate the data model/patterns and approval on new data models.
Designing and creating high and low-level design documents, reviewing those with the data owners, and obtaining design sign-offs.
Ensures solutions are well-engineered, operable, maintainable and delivered on schedule.
Monitors current and future trends, technology and information that will positively affect organizational projects; applies and integrates emerging technological trends to new and existing systems architecture.
Presents solutions to senior product and engineering management.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of data architecture, data modeling, data solutions, and deployment processes.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Relevant Experience:
At least 7 - 10 years of experience in data architecture, with a focus on designing and implementing data solutions for large-scale, enterprise-level projects.
Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration, extraction, transformation, and data governance principles.
Strong understanding of data privacy and compliances (i.e., PII, PHI, GDPR, CCPA).
Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and data warehousing solutions.
Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform with a cloud-based data solution provider such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS, including services like Big Query, Redshift, S3, or equivalent.
Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka for processing and analyzing large volumes of data.
Good to have experience with data visualization tools such as Looker/ Tableau/ Power BI
Proficiency in Bash Script, and Python.
Experience with job schedulers(Cron, Airflow, etc.)
Experience working in a DevOps framework
Familiar with machine learning is nice to have

Salary:
Primary Location Pay Range: $124,709.97 - $187,064.96
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
