Xumo, a joint venture between Comcast and Charter Communications, was formed to develop and offer a next-generation streaming platform for the entire entertainment industry. The company consists of three primary lines of business: Xumo devices, Xumo Play, and Xumo Enterprise. Powered by Comcast’s global entertainment platform, Xumo devices feature a world-class user interface with universal voice search capabilities, making it easy for consumers to find and enjoy their favorite streaming content. Xumo Play is a free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service offering hundreds of linear channels and on-demand options. Xumo Enterprise provides tools and services for content creators, distributors, and advertisers to make FAST content more accessible.

Job Summary

XUMO is looking for a content operations specialist to join the content operations team. This position will be responsible for supporting the onboarding process of all channels, toolset optimizations, programming schedules and partner communications are within our SLA ensuring all deadlines are met. This position is critical to the success of the content operations team and will support all facets of the department from on-boarding to on-demand and linear programming to programming stunt executions to working with the team to write technical requirements for toolset optimizations.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Effectively and clearly communicate open projects and tickets internally within the content operations team.
  • Help prioritize work understanding inbound requests and upcoming deadlines across the business.  
  • Work alongside and support the entire content operations team to plan, manage and document the primary roles and responsibilities of each member.
  • Execute ad-hoc content operation requests from internal and external partners.
  • Work closely with marketing on all stunts and programming to understand each initiative and ensure tickets are assigned and progressed appropriately.
  • Support the onboarding team to ensure all steps are accurately documented and communicated to each partner.
  • Follow directions to a tee maintain the team’s’ standard operating procedures.
  • Position is office based in Irvine, CA or Philadelphia, PA (4 days in office & 1 day remote)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years' experience in program scheduling. Streaming preferred.
  • Experience with streaming video or file-based video workflows a plus
  • Proven experience in Scheduling, Operations, and Research
  • Demonstrated strong time-management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated strong strategic and analytical planning and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate relationships and negotiate with internal clients
  • Ability to meet deadlines and partner timeline expectations
  • Experience with manual delivery systems such as Aspera, AWS S3 or FTP is a plus
  • Proven strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with Jira, Asana, or similar is a plus

Salary:

Primary Location Pay Range: $66,593.28 - $99,889.92

Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
