Job Summary
This role installs, tests, operates, maintains and repairs headend equipment that supports reliable cable network performance. The Headend Technician performs advanced maintenance and troubleshooting across RF, IP and digital video environments, periodically tests equipment and signal quality, maintains operational records and supports new technology installations and network projects. The role also provides backfill support for the Burlington headend location based on business needs. Work locations: This is an in-office role supporting the Everett and Burlington headend locations. Burlington coverage may include a 12:00 a.m. start time when needed. Standard schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On-call rotation: Wednesday through Wednesday, approximately once every four weeks. Maintenance windows: Must be able to work overnight and weekend hours when required by maintenance windows or other business needs. Driving requirement: This is a driving role with a company vehicle home-garaged. The position is not DOT regulated. Team environment: Works as part of a four-person team, including this position, and partners with ISP Engineering leaders and other technical teams to restore service and complete planned work safely. What Success Requires The strongest candidate will bring hands-on technical depth, sound judgment and a consistent focus on safe, reliable network operations in the following areas: Wiring: Builds, routes, labels, terminates and verifies wiring accurately while maintaining an organized headend environment. Troubleshooting: Uses a logical, step-by-step approach to isolate faults, identify root causes and restore service with minimal disruption. Safety Awareness: Recognizes hazards, follows required procedures and uses tools and equipment safely during routine and off-hours work. Distributed Architectures: Understands and supports distributed network architecture and related headend-to-field connectivity. Digital Headend: Works with digital headend equipment, signal paths, monitoring and maintenance activities. Commercial Network: Understands the service impact and reliability expectations of networks supporting commercial customers.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Perform advanced headend maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize system outages and service disruption.
Assistwith fault isolation and resolution across RF,IPand digital video networks.
Install, test and support new headend technology as project and department goals require.
Conductquality-controltests and measurements on new installations and network changes.
Periodically test headend equipment and signal quality throughout the cable network.
Maintainaccuratelogs,recordsand documentation related to headend operations,maintenanceand testing.
Maintainan appropriate inventoryof parts and materialsrequiredfor headend and OTN projects.
Provide planned and unplanned coverage at the Burlington headend, including midnight starts whenrequired.
Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to overnight or weekend maintenance needs.
Work within manufacturer-rated weight capacities for all equipment, including ladders and aerial lifts.
Maintain regular,consistentand punctual attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Demonstrated hands-on experience with wiring, headend equipmentmaintenanceand technical troubleshooting.
Working knowledge of RF,IPand digital video networks, including digital headend environments.
Working knowledge of distributed architectures and commercial network operations.
Ability to interpret test results, isolate faults, document workaccuratelyand communicate status clearly.
Ability to work independently during maintenance windows and collaboratively with managers and technical partners.
Ability toworkthe stated schedule,participatein the on-call rotation and provide overnight or weekend support as business needs require.
Ability to travel between the Everett and Burlington work locations and safelyoperatea company vehicle.
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role and work within manufacturer-rated equipment capacities.

Salary:
Washington Pay Range: $35.10 - $58.27
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. The application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later.
