Organization & Team Overview
FreeWheel, a Comcast company, provides comprehensive ad platforms for publishers, advertisers, and media buyers. Powered by premium video content, robust data, and advanced technology, we’re making it easier for buyers and sellers to transact across all screens, data types, and sales channels. As a global company, we have offices in nine countries and can insert advertisements around the world.
This position is developing software for the FreeWheel Publisher Suite. FreeWheel Publisher Suite is a full-stack supply-side solution that allows publishers with advertising inventory to efficiently manage supply and maximize the value of every impression. It is designed to optimize viewer experience, while ensuring full business control across all sales and distribution channels.

As an intern on the Publisher Suite team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new software and web applications. Aligned with one of our agile development teams, working together with not only other engineers but also with Product Managers, Scrum Masters, Architects, System Testers, DevOps and Customer Support.

In your role, you will build complex, highly scalable, and reliable infrastructure on the cloud, ensuring optimal performance, information security, and cost efficiency.

You’ll be working with the best and brightest minds in FreeWheel while we roll out the video delivery infrastructure that will power the next generation of television. Success in this role is characterized by a higher speed to market, with fewer customer-facing defects and outages.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop software applications with our tech stack and tooling, and follow our best practices and processes.
- Complete programming, tests and debugging of defined software components. Conducts analysis to determine integration needs.
- Follow our agile Scrum process, working in sprints together with the rest of the team to ensure timely delivery of work that both satisfies all our user stories criteria and is of sound technical quality.
- Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, tests, and technical manuals.
- Use the learning and development resources we provide to continuously improve themselves.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Preferred Skills
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
- Basic understanding of search algorithms, data structures, and databases, such as MySQL.
- Preferred Majors: Computer Science, Software Engineering
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
- Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2026- Spring 2028)
- Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2026 semester before graduating)
- Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program starting June 1, 2026, through August 14, 2026
- Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
- Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)
