Technical Writer 2
Job Summary
The Technical Writer 2 for the IS Solutions Tech & Automation Team is responsible for developing clear, accurate, and user‑friendly documentation focusing on internal business processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and user training materials. This role partners with operational teams, subject matter experts, and developers to document how internal processes operate, how tasks are performed, and how to navigate internal systems and tools. This writer is primarily process‑focused, translating steps and workflows into straightforward documentation for internal teams. The role produces process documents, user guides, and visual materials while following established documentation standards. The Technical Writer 2 works with moderate independence but receives guidance and review from senior writers or leadership for more complex documentation tasks.Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
Develops clear and detailed documentation for internal processes, SOPs, and workflow steps.
Writes step‑by‑step guides for business processes, system navigation, and operational tasks.
Ensures documentation accurately reflects task sequence, ownership, systems used, and decision points.
Creates user‑focused materials, including user guides, quick reference sheets, and onboarding documents.
Supports the creation of training materials such as simple slide decks, job aids, and visual walkthroughs.
Produces process maps, workflows, and basic visual diagrams under established standards.
Conductsguided information‑gathering sessions with SMEs and process owners with support as needed for complex topics.
Uploads andmaintainsdocuments within repositories such as Confluence or SharePoint, following existing naming conventions and organizational structures.
Follows documentation standards, templates, and versioning practices defined by senior writers and leadership.
Exercises independent judgment for routine documentation tasks andescalatesambiguous requirements to senior writers or the Manager.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and variableschedulesas necessary.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
