Job Summary

Comcast India is looking for a talented, dedicated Purchasing Operations Specialist to support Comcast India procurement operations. The role will support day-to-day activities in Purchase Order process management and user assistance, Purchase Order creation, PO exception management, Supplier PO acknowledgement, PO Change Order management, PO Invoice Resolution escalations, shipment discrepancy resolution (including mis-shipped unit of measure, incorrect model numbers, over- and under-shipments, and PO vs. invoice mismatches), obsolescence notification and miscellaneous ad-hoc activities

Job Description

The responsibilities will include:

Purchase Order Processing

  • Create POs, as required
  • Proactive PO system & process monitoring, exception management and break-fix resolution
  • Ensure POs are successfully transmitted and received by suppliers through PO acknowledgement
  • Ensure delivery dates are accurate in POs, as required
  • Perform change orders, as required

Support Reporting and Analytics

  • Assist in transactional purchasing operational analytics and reporting
  • Provide data driven suggestions for process and system improvements
  • Support ad hoc projects and other analytics activities

Purchasing End-User Engagement

  • Resolve tickets for end-user queries related to PO creation, PO management, Goods Receipts, and PO Invoice Resolution or accurately escalate issues to the correct stakeholder group for resolution
  • Effectively communicate procurement and purchasing policies to the business
  • Assist in crafting communications to business for process and system updates
  • Develop and update knowledge base help articles to reflect accurate processes
  • Train end-users in our systems and processes, as necessary

General Support

  • Perform User Acceptance Testing as required
  • Assist in new process and system change initiatives
  • Challenge existing practices and execute improvements to standardize and streamline process
  • Other relevant duties as assigned

Requirements            

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management or Information Systems or Technology or Engineering or equivalent education
  • 3+ years of procurement experience with large telecom or technology or media company
  • Purchasing system experience, specifically SAP and IBM Maximo highly desired
  • Experience working with a data reporting platform/warehouse.
  • Experience working with an issue tracker / ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk, etc.)
  • Strong background, experience, and knowledge in Transactional procurement (Procure to pay – P2P): PR process, PO process, Invoice resolution
  • Demonstrated quantitative and data analysis skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Great customer service skills and experience working with end-users virtually, via email and/or phone to discuss and resolve issues is required
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including correctly determining escalation paths for issues
  • Independent analytical thinking to proactively provide ideas for process improvement
  • Exceptional work ethic and team player with excellent time management skills
  • Advanced knowledge of M365 application suite
  • Accuracy of work product and excellent attention to detail are required
  • Experience working in global delivery model / environments
  • Ability to support Eastern and Pacific Standard Time Zone (USA) meeting / calls as needed

Bachelor's Degree

While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
