We own the IT applications and infrastructure supporting the Comcast Business serving large scale enterprise customers, mid market, small and medium business. Job Summary We are seeking an SDET Engineer with strong technical skills to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions. The ideal candidate will contribute to building scalable, reliable, and maintainable test assets that help release confidence and reduce manual testing effort. In this role, you will work under guidance on well-defined testing initiatives while independently delivering automation components, test suites, and validation assets. You will collaborate with developers and architects to ensure high-quality software delivery.Job Description
As part of the Comcast Business IT (BIT) organization, you will collaborate with product owners, architects, developers, and testers to deliver prioritized quality initiatives. You will help build a robust test automation foundation that supports faster releases, improved defect detection, and greater operational confidence.
Test Automation Development
As an SDET Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of automation assets across the testing lifecycle.
Automation and Frameworks
- Build and maintain automated test cases using ATF and other test automation frameworks.
- Develop and execute API test collections using Bruno or similar tools.
- Contribute to creation and expansion of golden regression test suites.
- Support smoke, sanity, regression, and end-to-end automation coverage.
Quality Engineering
- Design reusable test assets for ServiceNow workflows, integrations, and UI scenarios.
- Validate functional behavior across application and platform changes.
- Support defect triage and root cause analysis with developers and QA teams.
- Improve test coverage, stability, and execution efficiency.
Technical Contribution & Collaboration
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and stakeholders to understand requirements and test strategy.
- Follow established automation standards, naming conventions, and framework guidelines.
- Participate in code reviews, test reviews, and quality checkpoints.
- Contribute to documentation for test assets, execution steps, and coverage gaps.
Operations and Release Support
- Support release readiness through automated regression validation.
- Assist in maintaining dependable test pipelines and execution schedules.
- Troubleshoot test failures and environmental issues with guidance.
- Help ensure testing aligns with performance, security, and reliability expectations.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual testing through automation.
- Contribute to reuse of test components, data sets, and validation patterns.
- Stay current on automation tooling, ServiceNow testing capabilities, and QA best practices.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in QA, test automation, or software engineering.
- 2–3 years of hands-on automation experience with test frameworks or API testing tools.
- Experience with ATF, API collections, Bruno/Playwright automation testing, regression automation, and defect validation preferred
- Exposure to ServiceNow testing and enterprise application workflows preferred
- Exposure to Agile development practices preferred
Preferred Certifications
- ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
- ServiceNow CSA or testing-related ServiceNow exposure is a plus.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and maintain automated test cases, ATF suites, and API collections. 50% automation and scripting, 50% functional testing
- Automation testing includes Bruno, Playwright and API integration testing across various Comcast Business platforms
- Expand golden regression coverage for critical workflows and integrations.
- Validate application changes through functional, regression, and end-to-end testing.
- Support manual testing for new features, enhancements, and defect fixes.
- Execute and maintain the regression suite to validate critical workflows and release readiness.
- Assist with release testing, including smoke, sanity, and end-to-end validation before deployment.
- Support defect analysis, test execution, and release readiness.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve quality and automation coverage.
- Document test assets, execution results, and coverage gaps.
- Apply engineering best practices to improve test reliability and maintainability.
