Job Description

Lead QA / Test Engineer (6–8 Years Experience)/SDET/E3 level

Work Location: Comcast India Engineering Centre, Chennai

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Lead QA / Test Engineer with 6–8 years of experience in quality engineering and test automation. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in testing Spring Boot-based microservices, automating tests using Karate Framework, and measuring functional test effectiveness through JaCoCo code coverage integration. This role requires hands-on experience validating both REST APIs and GraphQL endpoints, while driving quality best practices across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using the Karate framework.
  • Validate and test Spring Boot microservices, REST APIs, and GraphQL API endpoints.
  • Integrate and analyze JaCoCo reports to measure and improve functional test coverage.
  • Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, architects, and DevOps teams to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Identify, track, and manage defects through resolution.
  • Lead QA activities, mentor junior team members, and promote test automation best practices.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration and quality gates.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 6–8 years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Engineering.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Karate test automation framework.
  • Proven experience integrating and analyzing JaCoCo code coverage for functional test validation.
  • Extensive testing experience with Spring Boot microservices.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs and GraphQL APIs testing.
  • Experience / familiarity with performance testing using Gatling framework is desirable.
  • Experience with API testing tools, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and test reporting frameworks.
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Telecom domain is a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to cloud-native applications, containerized environments, and DevOps practices is desirable.
