Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Performance Testing Engineer / Performance Engineering Specialist with strong experience in performance testing, monitoring, application diagnostics, and cloud-based performance engineering. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with tools such as JMeter, K6, LoadRunner, AppDynamics, ELK, Grafana, and strong knowledge of Java/J2EE monitoring, thread dump analysis, heap dump analysis, garbage collection concepts, and cloud platforms such as Pivotal Cloud and AWS. The role requires strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to identify performance bottlenecks and recommend architectural or design-level improvements.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute performance testing strategies for applications and services.
  • Conduct performance, load, stress, endurance, disaster recovery, and scalability testing.
  • Create and execute test scripts using tools such as JMeter, K6, and LoadRunner.
  • Monitor application performance using tools such as AppDynamics, ELK/Kibana, Elasticsearch, and Grafana.
  • Analyze application behavior under load and identify bottlenecks across application, database, infrastructure, and network layers.
  • Perform Java/J2EE application monitoring, including:
    • Thread dump analysis
    • Heap dump analysis
    • Garbage collection analysis
    • JVM tuning recommendations
  • Work closely with development, architecture, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to resolve performance issues.
  • Prepare performance test reports, dashboards, observations, and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Support performance tuning and provide solution recommendations for architectural improvements.
  • Develop negative test scenarios and validate application behavior under failure conditions.
  • Support DR testing, endurance testing, and stress testing activities.
  • Apply service virtualization concepts to simulate dependent systems where required.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand performance requirements and SLAs.
  • Present findings, risks, and improvement recommendations to leadership and technical teams.

Employees at all levels are expected to:

  • Strong understanding of performance testing and performance engineering concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as:
    • Apache JMeter
    • K6
    • LoadRunner
  • Good experience in Java/J2EE application monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Thread dump analysis
    • Heap dump analysis
    • Garbage collection concepts
    • JVM memory management
  • Experience in monitoring and dashboarding tools such as:
    • AppDynamics
    • ELK Stack
    • Kibana
    • Elasticsearch
    • Grafana
  • Good understanding of cloud platforms and cloud-native application performance concepts, preferably:
    • Pivotal Cloud Foundry
    • AWS Cloud
  • Experience in executing:
    • Load testing
    • Stress testing
    • Endurance testing
    • DR testing
    • Negative scenario testing
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to recommend architectural changes to improve system performance and scalability.
  • Understanding of service virtualization concepts.
