The Next Gen Access Technologies team is a small and fast-moving team of world-class experts who are innovating in end-to-end IP services delivery. As a test engineer on the next gen access team, you will be verifying the quality of current and future technologies that will enable next generation services to our customers. We are a team that thrives on big challenges, results, quality, and agility.
Who does the Next Gen Access Technologies team work with?
The team manages new technology development and deployment programs that require coordination across multiple teams. There is a strong, collaborative relationship between Next Gen Access, developers, vendors, QA engineers, deployment and operations teams as partners in the delivery of quality systems and services. We work at all levels of the organization to plan and deliver new services and service capabilities.
What are some interesting problems you’ll be working on?
In this role, you will be part of a team that is responsible for the development, verification, and benchmarking Comcast’s next generation access products and network capabilities. This effort will
require working directly with the RF and network equipment in Comcast’s test labs. In addition, you will work with system engineers on reproducing and debugging issues found in the field.
Where can you make an impact?
You’ll be working with the best and brightest minds in Comcast to verify the access networks infrastructure and products that will power the next generation of services. Success in this role is characterized by a higher speed to market as well as fewer customer-facing defects and outages of equipment and services that delight and entertain our customers.
Responsibilities:
•Coordinate with fellow team members and the test lead during test runs.
•Perform the execution of automated test suites and investigate issues and failures found.
•Perform quality assurance testing on iterations of code and hardware with and without automation.
•Assist the system engineers in reproducing and troubleshooting field issues.
Skills & Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
•6-8 years of network testing experience.
•Strong preference for a minimum 5 years in a combination of cable network architecture, specification, engineering, validation.
•Knowledge of various RF and network testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers, packet generators, routers, etc.
•Experience in testing to standards.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Keen attention to detail a must.
•High level of engagement and commitment.
