Job Summary
"Responsible for managing the daily and overall work processes and practical implementation of relevant standards within one or more assigned areas of the Cyber Security. Monitors assigned areas of Cyber Engineering to ensure adherence to relevant standards. Ensures all work processes are efficient and consistent in their daily application. Identifies flaws in the work process and recommends solutions. Manages direct and dotted line reports and works on cross-functional teams. Coordinates complex and multi-disciplined engineering projects from design to implementation in accordance with the company's policies.Contributes towards the build and maintenance of the organization's cyber security systems and infrastructure. Exercises solid knowledge of cyber engineering skills and methodology with a working knowledge of applicable cyber security compliance standards. Conducts security assessments and audits to identify cybersecurity risks within the company's networks, applications and operating systems. Helps secure and protect the Network Infrastructure: Routers, Switches, Optical Devices, L2 Datacenter and cabling, Strand Mounted devices, Secure Routing protocols, DOCSIS plant (CMTS/vCMTS/PON), SDN, best practice device configuration, network automation, monitoring and troubleshooting. Tests company's internal systems to validate security and detect any computer and information security weaknesses. Performs a technical analysis of vulnerabilities and determines the impacts to the organization Reports, tracks and records findings in a comprehensive vulnerability assessment report. Identifies and recommends appropriate action to mitigate vulnerabilities and reduce potential impacts on cybersecurity resources. Applies long-term objectives and plans related to the company's technical vision to daily activity. Applies innovative solutions for cyber engineering developmental problems that are competitive with industry and company standards. May manage a team including exempt and non-exempt employees. Provides subject matter guidance to employees as required. Develops processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies. Assists in development and meeting of departmental budget. Core Responsibilities
Network Security Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive network security policies, strategies, and best practices to protect the organization’s network infrastructure.
• Threat Monitoring & Incident Response: Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify and respond to potential security incidents in a timely manner. Lead the response to security breaches and perform root cause analysis.
• Security Infrastructure Management: Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and management of firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), anti-malware software, and other network security tools.
• Risk Assessment & Vulnerability Management: Oversee and coordinate on the security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify weaknesses in the network and recommend mitigation strategies. Perform risk analysis to determine the potential impact of threats.
• Compliance & Audits: Ensure that the network security infrastructure meets industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Mentorship, Training & Awareness: Guide the team towards best Network security practices and skilled with strong leadership, people and project management skills.
• Collaboration with IT Teams: Work closely with IT, infrastructure, and system administration teams to ensure seamless integration of network security protocols and solutions into the broader IT ecosystem.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in cybersecurity. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the organization’s network security posture.
Employees at all levels are expected to:
o
Overall 12+ years of experience with minimum of 5 years of experience in network security, with at least 2 years in a managerial or lead role.
o
Hands-on experience with network security tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, SIEM solutions, endpoint protection).
o
Experience in conducting security audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability management.
o
In-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.) and experience with network troubleshooting.
•
Skills:
o
Strong understanding of network security concepts and best practices.
o
Proficiency with security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), VPNs, endpoint protection, and SIEM.
o
Strong leadership and team management skills.
o
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
o
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
o
Familiarity with cloud security and securing cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Preferred Skills:
•
Experience with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
•
Knowledge of incident response, forensics, and malware analysis.
•
Experience with SIEM tools and threat intelligence platforms.
•
Knowledge of encryption technologies and secure communication protocols.
Work Environment:
•
This position typically requires working in a hybrid environment, with some after-hours support on a need basis.
