Engineer 3 - Software Development & Engineering
Job Summary
Comcast Business IT (BIT), part of the Technology and Product Division, is responsible for building and supporting applications and infrastructure serving enterprise, mid-market, and SMB customers. Job Summary We are seeking a ServiceNow Developer with strong technical skills to design, develop, and support ServiceNow platform solutions. The ideal candidate will contribute to building scalable, secure, and efficient applications aligned to business needs. In this role, you will work under guidance on complex initiatives while independently delivering well-defined components. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions and continuously improve platform capabilities.Job Description
As part of the Comcast Business IT (BIT) organization, you will collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineers to deliver prioritized initiatives. You will contribute to building a secure, reliable, and scalable ecosystem that supports efficient business processes through customer-centric applications.
ServiceNow Platform Development
As a ServiceNow Developer, you will contribute to the development, enhancement, and support of enterprise-scale ServiceNow solutions, primarily across ITSM, CMDB, and TSOM.
ServiceNow ITSM, CMDB, TSOM Development
- Design, develop, and maintain solutions on ServiceNow ITSM and CMDB platforms, with exposure to TSOM.
- Support workflows related to incident, request, problem, change, and service operations.
- Assist in data migration and transformation activities for ITSM, CMDB, and TSOM.
Enterprise Integration
- Develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise systems (e.g., OSS/BSS, ERP, CRM).
- Contribute to automation workflows supporting Day 2 operations including incident resolution and service monitoring.
- Build and maintain scripts, workflows, and automation logic using platform capabilities.
Technical Contribution & Collaboration
- Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and stakeholders to understand requirements and contribute to design discussions.
- Follow established development standards, coding practices, and architectural guidelines.
- Contribute to implementation of scripts, business rules, workflows, and integrations.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure quality deliverables.
Quality & Operations
- Perform unit testing and support system/integration testing.
- Troubleshoot issues in development and production environments with guidance.
- Ensure applications meet security, performance, and reliability standards.
Continuous Learning & Improvement
- Stay current with ServiceNow platform updates and industry trends.
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Support adoption of automation and emerging capabilities (e.g., AI-assisted development).
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in IT service management or application development
- 2–3 years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience (ITSM preferred)
- Experience working with Flow Designer, Script Includes, and basic integrations
- Exposure to enterprise systems integration (ERP/CRM/OSS/BSS)
- Telecom domain exposure is preferred
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
Preferred Certifications
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) (nice to have)
Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand product and technical requirements.
- Develop and customize ServiceNow applications and modules.
- Support software development lifecycle including development, testing, and deployment.
- Assist in maintaining and enhancing existing applications.
- Contribute to integration development using APIs and middleware.
- Support documentation of technical requirements and solutions.
- Implement secure design patterns, write secure code, and support security testing.
- Work with QA teams to validate functionality and resolve defects.
- Apply engineering best practices and coding standards.
- Demonstrate growing expertise in ServiceNow development and platform capabilities.
- Exercise judgment within defined scope, escalating complex decisions when required.
