Job Summary
Responsible for contributing in project teams, troubleshooting operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, new product implementation, implementing existing products and services and the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering. Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies and procedures. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Application operations provide support to team responsible for implementation of initiatives that have an Operational impact and drive business goals
- An application operations engineer supports, manages and maintains a single application or a suite of applications
- Ensure that systems meet business and customer needs for reliability and availability
- Asset and configuration management: the scope is conducting life cycle management for assets including hardware, software, intellectual property, licenses and warranties.
- Availability and capacity management: the scope is to define, analyze, plan, forecast, measure, maintain and improve all aspects of the availability of services, including power.
- Change management: management of service changes, configuration items, organizational change, supplier change and associated documentation. It is necessary to manage request changes in response to incidents or problems that provide effective control and reduction of risk to security performance and availability
- Monitor and manage application performance and service quality, including initial troubleshooting, identification of root cases and issue resolution
- Incident management: co-ordinate the response to incident reports, ensuring relevant prioritization and detail to allow effective investigation.
- Problem management: understanding and identifying problems, analyzing and helping to identify the appropriate solution.
- Problem management. Investigations of problems in systems, processes and services, with an understanding of the level of a problem.
- Take accountability for issues that occur and be proactive in searching for potential problems

- Unix (ksh, log, shell scripting, etc)
