Job Summary

As an Engineer 1 on our DevX Platforms Cloud Native Application Platforms (CNAP) team, you will help enable Comcast developers to deliver reliable, performant, scalable, and secure software products. You will contribute to the development, operation, and continuous improvement of cloud-native platforms that support application teams across the organization. In this role, you will work with experienced engineers to design, implement, operate, and support platform services and large-scale distributed systems. You will assist with monitoring, troubleshooting, debugging, automation, change management, incident response, and capacity planning activities that help ensure platform reliability and performance. You will contribute code, participate in operational support, and help automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and consistency across the platform ecosystem. As part of a team with expertise spanning software engineering and technology infrastructure, you will collaborate with platform engineers, application development teams, vendors, and client services organizations to deliver technical solutions that improve the developer experience. You will help investigate and resolve issues, participate in problem-solving activities, and contribute to operational excellence initiatives under the guidance of senior team members. The CNAP team embraces AI-First and AI-Native ways of working. In this role, you will leverage AI-powered tools and platforms to accelerate learning, software development, troubleshooting, documentation, testing, automation, and operational workflows. You will develop skills in effectively partnering with AI systems while applying sound engineering judgment, security practices, and quality standards to deliver reliable outcomes. Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Actively participate on a DevX Platforms team to operate, maintain, and continuously improve Comcast's Cloud Native Application Platforms (CNAP), built on open-source technologies including Kubernetes and Cloud Foundry.

  • Develop, enhance, and support platform capabilities through automation, infrastructure-as-code, API integrations, and AI-assisted engineering practices that improve operational efficiency, platform reliability, and the developer experience.

  • Monitor platform health, availability, latency, performance, capacity, and operational metrics. Proactively identify areas for improvement and assist with capacity planning, performance optimization, and reliability initiatives.

  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and service restoration efforts to minimize downtime and service disruptions. Assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.

  • Work closely with application development teams to ensure software releases are well-designed, planned, tested, implemented, released, and monitored effectively on CNAP platforms.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Cloud Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Product Delivery, and Engineering teams, to design, implement, and operate reliable, scalable, and secure platform solutions that align with engineering best practices and quality standards.

  • Support cybersecurity initiatives by assisting with vulnerability remediation, secure platform and service configuration, testing and validation activities, implementation of technical controls, and incident remediation efforts.

  • Harvest, analyze, and visualize operational metrics and telemetry data to improve observability, system reliability, and platform performance.

  • Partner with CNAP Engineering and Product Delivery teams to deliver roadmap initiatives that introduce new capabilities, improve reliability, and enhance platform stability.

  • Contribute to the design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of disaster recovery, business continuity, and failover capabilities for platform services.

  • Act as an advocate for engineering operational excellence by following and promoting established procedures, policies, standards, and best practices.

  • Utilize AI-First and AI-Native ways of working to accelerate software development, troubleshooting, documentation, testing, automation, and operational workflows while applying sound engineering judgment, security practices, and quality standards.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and team collaboration activities.

  • Provide excellent customer service to platform users and serve as a collaborative partner to development teams adopting and operating applications on CNAP.

  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work variable schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime as necessary to support operational needs.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
