Job Summary
Platform Engineering Manager Responsible for leading the delivery, reliability, and continuous evolution of the Platform Engineering organization focused on automation platforms, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and developer enablement. Partners with engineering, product, architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to build scalable, secure, and highly available platform capabilities that improve engineering productivity and operational excellence. Leads a team of Platform Engineers responsible for developing automation solutions, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Kubernetes platforms, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines. Drives technical execution, operational reliability, incident management, engineering best practices, and continuous improvement while fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and innovation. Provides technical leadership, manages delivery priorities, develops engineering talent, and ensures the platform meets the evolving needs of internal engineering teams through scalable automation and cloud-native solutions.Job Description

Job Description
Skills and Experience
- 10–12+ years of experience in Software Engineering with 3–5+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Experience managing teams building internal developer platforms, automation frameworks, or cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Strong understanding of software development using Go (Golang), Python, or similar programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerized applications, and cloud-native platform technologies.
- Experience working with public cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or similar technologies.
- Experience managing CI/CD platforms and automation using Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
- Experience leading platform reliability initiatives, incident response, root cause analysis, and operational excellence programs.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, system design, scalability, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with observability technologies including Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog, or similar monitoring and logging platforms.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), automation, and cloud security best practices.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Platform Engineers responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving the organization's automation platform and developer infrastructure.
- Define team priorities, execution plans, delivery milestones, and engineering roadmaps aligned with organizational objectives.
- Partner with engineering, architecture, product management, infrastructure, and security teams to understand platform requirements and deliver scalable automation solutions.
- Drive the design, development, and continuous improvement of cloud-native platform capabilities, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
- Ensure the availability, scalability, security, and reliability of the platform through proactive operational excellence initiatives and continuous platform improvements.
- Lead incident management, production support, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews while driving long-term reliability improvements.
- Establish and monitor engineering metrics, platform health indicators, service-level objectives (SLOs), and operational KPIs to improve platform performance and reliability.
- Promote engineering best practices in automation, software development, code quality, testing, infrastructure management, and security.
- Drive adoption of DevOps, GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, and automation practices across engineering teams to improve developer productivity and deployment efficiency.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to define platform architecture, technical standards, and long-term technology strategy.
- Manage resource planning, team capacity, project prioritization, risk management, and cross-functional dependencies to ensure successful delivery.
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineers through regular feedback, career development, performance management, and technical guidance.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, continuous learning, and operational excellence across the engineering organization.
- Support a sustainable on-call culture by ensuring appropriate operational readiness, incident response processes, and continuous improvements to platform resiliency.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards, governance policies, regulatory requirements, and engineering quality processes.
